Travelodge Hotel Wellington

Great central location. Reasonable value for money. Clean Rooms. Just check that they give you what you have paid for as the arrival sheet we were asked to sign differed markedly from what we had actually paid for. Our room was cramped, featured a sloping floor in a tower block, the bathroom door was falling off its hinges, the towel rail was bent and almost off the wall and the sink had 3 huge cracks across it. There was no air conditioning which meant that we had to leave the window open, so we were woken at 5am by the delivery lorries. In retrospect we should have gone for a better hotel at a higher price point.

They literally gave a random guest a key to my room after I’d checked in, the guy saw me half naked and when I asked reception about it I was just told “sorry”, the guy just staring at me waiting for me to leave the desk with no idea how that situation made me feel. He provided no confirmation that it wouldn’t happen again or if the additional key still worked or anything. No offer of a different room. I was travelling alone for work, didn’t feel safe for the entire remainder of my trip. Make sure you double lock the doors.

First time in Wellington. Highly recommended this hotel. Perfect location. Attentive staff. The cleaning staff were very friendly. I just found the bathroom small and not very sophisticated! But clean and organized!

The parking building connected to the hotel charges a flat $10 for the weekend day, but they hotel will try charge $28.nnThis is a reasonably priced hotel for easy access to the city.nWe took a three bedroom room, but the third bed was a fold out couch you wouldn't want sleep on for two nights. Its uncomfortable with a large metal bar in the centre.nnGood for an in-and out experience.

Housekeeping is not a daily service and has to be ordered on a daily basis by guests for fresh towels/linens. Not as advertised. Breakfast included is nothing special. Mushrooms, tomatoes, hash bites, sausagemixed meat, thick and chewy pancakes, scrambled eggs, baked beans and steamed brocolli are they buffet choices. Breads, cereal and fruits out of a can not fresh also on the side.nnNo drinking water facility in rooms. Guests are expected to fill glasses/bottles from bathroom sink.n3 guest rooms have a pull out single couch with a worn out mattress 80mm thick. When questioned about the mattress the service desk advised thats standard across thier rooms advertised for 3 guests and the mattress is sufficient for a normal guest. Guest is a 6 foot 116kg male. Not suitable at all. Would not have booked knowing these things.nnThe only good thing going for this hotel is the location.
