Excellent hotel. A 15 - 20 minute walk to the waterfront and up hill back to the hotel. Not quite use to walking hills.nThere is a VIP elevator that takes you down 5 floors from reception and the restaurant level that is a great help.nThe bed was extremely comfortable with great pillows. Loved the bathrobe and asked if I could buy one but they're not for sale.nOnly negative was the noise from the floor above Sunday and Monday mornings that started around 5.50am. Scrapping across the floor and banging. Thought it was the gym but it was the conference rooms. Did mention it to reception but they weren't sure what it could be on a Sunday.nThere was no external road noise.nnThe restaurant 'Forage Kitchen and bar' is great! Delicious evening meal and a great buffet breakfast with the option of them cooking items specifically for each person if requested.nThe reception and restaurant staff were great also. Helpful and attentive.nThanks!
Spent a couple of weeks visiting family and enjoyed the easy walks to local neighborhood restaurants, busses to farther locations, even electric scooters to make that hike back up the hill to the terrace a little easier! They always had cookies in the lobby, great coffee machine stayed stocked, very quiet and comfortable accommodation. Will probably stay there again.
We checked in and immediately noticed that the room was old and damaged, the blinds on a window would not open, stains on carpet, and a door to the bedroom that had been damaged and poorly repaired several times, and a broken bathroom drain it was dangerous to step on.nnThat night we both struggled to sleep—I spent much of the night awake with allergies. I looked on top of the bed’s headboard and wardrobe and it was covered—covered!—in dust.nnI raised the dust, with pictures, to the manager, on top of the poor room quality. I stressed that it ruined our nights sleep, and gave me allergies that continued throughout the whole trip. He promised he would get the room cleaned “top to bottom”.nnI came back to the room several hours later, the bed was made, but the dust was entirely untouched. I called again, this time requesting a cloth so I could clean it up; it was very uncomfortable to be in the room at that point.nnThe manager appeared with the head housekeeper a few minutes later. They offered to clean it again, once I showed them pictures for a third time. After 10 minutes in the room, they left.nnAfter they left, I checked again. They had cleaned the headboard, but completely skipped the top of the wardrobe. I had to chase the head housekeeper down the hallway and get them to come back.nn“This is very embarrassing and unacceptable” said the head housekeeper to me. There was weeks and weeks of dust on that wardrobe, right by the air vent too.nnAt the end of this process I was exhausted and embarrassed and had very little faith in the staff of this hotel. By that point we had less than 16 hours left in our stay so we wanted as little contact with staff as possible.nnThe cleaning helped somewhat, but the room was still so dusty.nnI will never be staying in a Mövenpick hotel again, and recommending anybody else to avoid this chain.
The presentation of staff and premises is excellent. The room was very well appointed. As are all the common areas. Food in the restaurant was good quality, and the staff attentive and Profesional. The room had a range of power outlets and charging outlets for devices and overseas plugs. Overall, a very high level of thought and effort in design and delivery.nA great hotel.nAnd even better staff.
Enjoyed a week at the Movenpick Wellington. Location is great with the main shopping area, restaurants and attractions nearby. It is at the top of a hill and whilst there is a lift which allows you to avoid the steepest part of the hill if mobility is an issue be aware of this. The room was clean and comfortable but smaller than expected with limited wardrobe and storage space which was disappointing.nRestaurant service was good at breakfast and we enjoyed the dinner we had one evening. Staff were friendly and helpful throughout the hotel.
