Sofitel Wellington

We stayed there for two nights. The room was modern chic and had all the modern amenities.nBut the hotel is made by the attentive and superb staff, especially at breakfast, which is a great way to start your day. Also, a really decent gym for a hotel - modern and working equipment. We will be back, for sure.

We really enjoyed our stay at the Sofitel. Our room was excellent - we even got upgraded. The service was top drawer across the board and the staff went out of their way to welcome us and make my wife's birthday memorable.nThe hotel facilities are excellent and it is within walking distance of the central city and waterfront area so we walked everywhere.

Spent 2 nights at Sofitel, Wellington. Very tastefully decorated throughout with a French theme. Very comfortable bed and all absolutely spotlessly clean. Staff spoke French as well as English.  Fabulous breakfast. All food that we had was fresh and tasty. Very friendly and helpful staff throughout with personal touches and Joe the chef went over and above during our stay. Hunter, behind the bar in the club lounge was an absolute delight - so friendly and welcoming. I chose this hotel for the stylish design but it's also in a good location for our one day tourist plan. Short easy walk to the cable car about 10 mins. Took the historic cable car up the hill, straight to the free shuttle to Zealandia for a tour, then free shuttle back to top of cable car. We walked through the botanical gardens back to the hotel - downhill and very pleasant. Also it's just about 15 minutes walk to the museum at the wharf. If we are ever fortunate enough to return to Wellington then I would choose this hotel again. Thank you very much.

We really enjoyed our stay, it's a lovely quiet hotel with friendly staff. Our room was decorated really nicely and spacious, it included access to the club, which was a bonus. The restaurant and bar were great, we enjoyed our breakfast.

What's expected in a 5-star hotel PLUS what's very special about this hotel is the staff. They make you feel that they genuinely care about you. They also seem to be enjoying their work. Not easy to remember all their names but always very nice to talk to Alejandro, Sergio, Hunter, Ana, Tapan, Michael, Mere, Devina and Jelisha and not forgetting of course the friendly housekeeping team.
