InterContinental Wellington, an IHG Hotel

Wonderful hotel in a perfect location. The rooms are extremely comfortable in the pool. Deck is very modern and beautiful. We had to catch a late flight and they were super accommodating and allowed us to stay at the hotel until 2:00 p.m. for no extra charge.

Currently under construction which was fine. However the bars across the street are so loud that if your room is facing them you may as well go out and join them because you won’t be sleepingnVery disappointed in the lack of sound proofing or mentioning that the room would become a nightclub on Friday night.nBreakfast buffet amazing!!! But other than that I doubt I would choose this hotel again in the future especially for the price pointnThe level of noise they shouldn’t even be able to charge you to stay here so be warned anyone that requires sleep.

The quality of the bed linen was fantastic - I’d love to know where I could buy it for my bedroom at home. I also appreciated the grey and embroidery labelled MakeUp Remover face towel. I’ve stayed in too many hotels this year that don’t even provide a face washer flannel and have had to start travelling with one from home. Also appreciated the cosy robe. The staff were all exceptionally kind and professional - even when I ran into the breakfast room 10mins before they were due to close.

Your hotel is great, the location excellent and you have really good staff. Your buffet brekky is amazing, except for 1 concerning aspect. Your cold cuts, salmon and cheeses, on a centre table, are not temperature controlled. This represents the potential for a significant food safety concern. Whilst cold food can be in an uncontrolled environment for up to 4 hours, serving it this way is a risk that is easily controlled by the use of a temperature controlled environment for these offerings. Other than this, your place is sensational.

This is from my experience only.nnI stayed here with my almost 2 year old and partner.nn1. The nearest car park available at that time was either basement 2 or 3 level without an elevator which meant we had to either carry the child / pram etc all the way up the stairs or walk on the road up to the nearest level that had an elevator.nn2. TV is surprisingly NOT a smart TV, which means you had to screen share from your device if you wanted to log in and use your netflix/Disney etc. However, no one could get our TV to screenshare in our room.nn3. Pool is not suited for a toddler and a short adult, pool depth is about 5'3ft.nnBut honestly I would still highly recommend this 5-star hotel if you go with older kids.nThe hotel and room was immaculately clean, the workers were welcoming and always had a smile.nRoom service is fast.nGym, pool, spa and sauna is clean better than the public gyms and pools.
