Bay Plaza Hotel

The staff were lovely, it was a great location. Those are the only positives.nThe room was very dated, the lime build up on the shower head made me not want to shower there. No adequate heating, the blanket was covered in mold and the previous guests hair. No double glazing so we heard everthing outside all night. The walls were paper thin. The bed was hard/uncomfortable and very noisy with the headboard banging with every move during the night. Would not stay here again. I would recommend Trinity hotel, MUCH nicer and $50 cheaper per night.

Average experience. Pros - good location and no complaints re room as we received a relatively good deal so standard was not great but as expected for how much we paid.nnCons - left sign on the door before leaving for the afternoon to find it still there when we returned this is ok took it off thinking we’d get em next time and half an hour later we received a faint knock at the door and housekeeping let themselves in before we had a chance to register it was knocking and answer which freaked me out a bit. Glad I was clothed Very awkward.nnFridge also super loud - so was the bathroom fan that conveniently only turned on at about 6am each morning.nnOtherwise an ok stay however would not go back considering there are plenty of other options.

This hotel worked great for us. The room was a little tight but the staff was responsive and helpful, the view was lovely, and the location was very good. Parking in their lot behind the building was a nice convenience.

What you think your getting and what you get is completely different, room more in line with a stable, thinking your getting 1 queen size bed and then you get two single beds, single glaze window, noise from traffic terrible, room smelt of damp, phone not working, reception personnel clueless.nDO YOURSELF A FAVOUR AND STAY AT HOME OR FIND SOMEWHERE ELSE TO STAY.

This place was an ok stay. In dire need of an upgrade, didn’t even realise where the air con was for a couple days lol but it’s actually located on the floor. The fridge looked like it was build in 1970’s and overall just lacking a theme/aesthetic. The bathroom was ok. Most annoying part of this is that there’s a netflix app on the TV but the hotel doesn’t actually offer it at all, as their wifi apparently can’t support all the channels. Which brings me to their wifi, which cut in and out frequently and at times could be extremely slow. The view was alright. Receptionist was very helpful giving us things to do in Welly. Overall 2/5, wouldn’t recommend or stay here again.
