I stay here a lot, and I've stayed at most luxury and higher standard hotels of Wellington. This is at the top for me. It makes for a lovely holiday and efficient business trip. The staff do a great job and provide outstanding service. It is also very quiet and the lap pool is a treat. Executive hire rooms are of the highest quality with all the tech you need
We first stayed at the Bolton nearly ten years ago and were blown away. It was superb. Unfortunately this time around we were in a lot of ways let down. Ten years in any busy hotel is going to take a toll, but for a five star rated, the decline we saw was disappointing. A lower standard of service at check in, our car idling away for ages waiting for valet, no maps at the concierge desk, a somewhat cluttered and insipid scene.nRoom was spacious with good amenities and the bed was comfortable, but as we settled in the cracks showed.nScuff marks on the walls and finger smudges on the ceiling manhole. Bathroom door squeaked badly and door handle was loose. Mirror hung off center. Toilet seat was a challenge. AC wall control hard to read, I think the battery? Everything just seemed a bit tired and certainly not in our international experience five stars. On top of it all a surcharge. A sign of the times?nA shame as the Bolton was almost a catchphrase for quality for us. Next time in the capital we will try a competitor.
Amazing! All staff go above and beyond to make sure your stay goes well. They even bailed us out of a tricky laundry situation. Bolton is the best.
Good hotel in a good spot.nCheck out the car parking or valet parking in advance. We had suite with a kitchen area which worked well.
Excellent location in downtown Wellington. Suites include a washer/dryer, though the instructions to use it are wonky. Overall, it was a great experience. They tried to tell me I had to pay for a 2nd breakfast even though I ate alone both mornings. Manju at the front desk could use some lessons in customer service.
