Our stay at Hilton hotel, unfortunately proved to be a very disappointing experience. We encountered significant difficulties from the moment we attempted to locate the property. Despite our GPS indicating arrival, we struggled considerably to find the hotel entrance. Clearer signage or a more detailed arrival guide would greatly benefit future guests.nnThe parking situation further compounded our frustrations. The lack of readily available parking forced us to use a shared parking structure, which added to the stress of an already challenging arrival.nnInside the room, the malfunctioning television presented another significant problem. The initial request for assistance was not met promptly, requiring a second call an hour later before anyone was sent to assist. While a staff member attempted to troubleshoot the issue, even after downloading the required app, the television remained unusable. This was particularly upsetting as my husband, who has dementia, relies on watching television to help him relax before sleep. His inability to do so greatly impacted his comfort and our overall evening.nnWe did bring these issues to the attention of the staff during check-out. While we received a subsequent message from the Front Office Manager, Marcos Cofre expressing a desire to make amends on a future visit, we reside in the USA and currently have no plans to return to New Zealand. Therefore, we respectfully request consideration for compensation to reflect the significant disruptions and discomfort experienced during our stay. The lack of a functional television and the considerable stress caused by the initial difficulty in locating the hotel and parking significantly detracted from our intended relaxation and created an unexpectedly challenging evening.
Great location right in the business area and across the street from the cable car.nThe service was bad- upon checking my credit card was charged $420 after the clerk said it was only for room deposit and it will be refunded after check out. It has not been refunded yet. We didn’t not receive a cookie which is protocol. The shower had only cold water and after complaining twice to the clerk nothing was done about it. At check out we complained again and they gave us 10% discount but that is unacceptable to not have hot shower for 2 nights. We were not offered to change rooms or got any information about them working on fixing it.
Although located in old, historic building, the hotel is quite well maintained and modernised. Rooms are really spacious and have all necessary amenities. Beds are big and comfortable, even bathrooms are modern and much better standard compared to other more modern hotels. Staff was helpful and efficient. Best thing is location right in the centre of Welly, next to all government offices and tourist attractions.
Unique hotel, well ventilated lobbies and rooms, very nice complimentary condiments, tranquil ambience. The style is unique and they do their best to cater for your needs. There is an Italian restaurant on L1.nnThere is not much I could give improvements on but one thing is the coffee table beside the bed had coffee/cup stains on it that would be removed if it was wiped.
Nice hotel but when we arrived pulling up to the hotel was difficult since it's on a small dead end street. We were told to park in the parking garage next to the hotel with spots label with their hotel signs. There was none available so we had to park in a paid public spot which the hotel told us to do even though there was free parking on the street which we didn't find out until the next day. We paid $20 for 12 hours and woke up to a ticket the next day because we missed the time by 6 mins. Told the hotel about the situation even though their website said parking available which is why we booked it. Come to learn that it's a first come first serve for the VERY limited hotel spots. Or pay $40 weekend or $80 on weekdays for the day even if you're not parked during the day. Hotel told us to appeal which would take days and would unlikely be approved. Any other hotel I've been to of this standard would've offered to reimburse us since their website did promise us parking. First time reviewing a hotel since this hotel was very unhelpful. Pretty much told us it's our own problem for not getting one of their 15 spots first. There are other/better hotels in this beautiful city. Go to them.
