More of an experience than a stay. On top of the stunning aesthetic, all the staff were amazing. We spent one night in the studio side and decided to upgrade to the hotel side, both rooms were gorgeous and the staff were so helpful with the switch, in particular Alicia , also the bar staff we met in the evening working the next day breakfast shift greeted us warmly. The happy hour cocktails & breakfast were superb. Can't speak higher of Naumi!
One of the worst hotel experiences ever. Yes, the look of this hotel is amazing and unique, but in reality this is just a distraction from the service and cleanliness of this hotel. Our room was dirty. Every single glass in our room had lip marks and other marks as they clearly were not cleaned. The room was dusty, there were marks and fingerprints all over the bathroom door. AND the bed had crumbs of food or something in it. Also I got water all over the bathroom because the shower didn't have a door. To top it all off we paid over $450 for ONE night. I have stayed in $100 hotels and at least had clean glassware, but really that is the bare minimum. We did receive a refund thankfully and the man at the front desk didn't seem very surprised, as if this had happened before. Honestly this hotel has so much potential to be amazing but please have clean rooms and better service as that'll make customer experiences, not what the place looks like! and maybe hire some staff who can actually do their job Will never stay here again.
Lots to like about this hotel.nPros:nLoved loved loved the decor. Refreshing to see some personality in the decor and design. Rooms were funky , beds comfy, plenty of seating for guests, comfy chairs, large TV with lots of channels, pool, spa, gym and outdoor private place to sit in the sun. Nice NZ antipodes products, recycling and great to see an effort made for recycling and attempt to reduce plastic and wastage. Room was generous size. Our prior requests were considered. Breakfast was good. Staff friendly and helpful in the restaurant.nnCons: we could have had a friendlier welcome; a smile costs nothing. Shower was small but adequate. Booking process was complicated by constantly changing of prices online on their website and trying to contact the hotel by phone was met with waiting on the phone and a different response each time I called re my problems with booking. I was calling the call centre and was not aware of the direct line to the wellington hotel. It was confusing with prices and specials on the website that changed day by day.nnHaving said all that, I would definitely stay again
Very cool decor, great staff and well appointed rooms.nOnly drawback is a bit of noise filters in from Cuba St, but nothing you wouldn't expect from a city based hotel.
Very very disappointed with the service, when I asked about EV charging, they said already full, but when I checked 2 lots are empty, after I fought with one of the staff then she allowed me. But the charger doesn’t work because type 1 and most of EV now using type 2!!! They have for Tesla but unfortunately only for Tesla!nnThen I went to the swimming pool also didn’t work!nnI feel like double disappointment with this hotel!nnI will never ever book this hotel again!!!
