We had an Executive Twin Room in the 26th floor. The room was big and the beds very comfortable. You can even choose which kind of pillow you want for the night. We had a really good nights sleep.nThe only negative point to mention is, that the walls are rather thin so you can hear the neighbors and everyone on the floor. Also the wind howls very strong in the upper floors, so better bring earplugs if you are a light sleeper.
We had a family gathering for breakfast. Enjoyed the mushrooms and grilled tomatoes, I'm a big fan of salmon but found it too salty. The staff who looked after our table, a young man was very courteous and with a smile cleared away empty plates and glasses promptly. Experience was below average, decor felt outdated. Windows were dirty. Been in NZ for decades and first time visit here. The reception staff were friendly.
I booked in today for a 4 night stay. Check-in was seamless, with great customer service.nnMy room is a spacious king-size room with a nice seating area and desk, which is great for work.nnVery clean. Lovely decor. There are lots of power and USB outlets, which was impressive, so much easier to charge up devices.nnNice sized shower and ensuite. I'm looking forward to my stay.nnVery central location at a great price.nnEdit ...nMy entire stay was fabulous. I want to shout out to Rosa who looks after reception in the Whitby's restaurant. She is the highlight of my stay at James Cook. Always so friendly and professional. Wonderful customer service.
Rooms were nice and spacious, more importantly cleaner than most I have seen in Wellington. Great location and easy walk to shop around in the city.nGood food options and drinks at the hotel. Friendly service.
I really enjoyed my stay here at the James Cook Hotel. The views are beautiful, the rooms are spacious, clean, and modern.nnThe hotel resturant on level 17 provides a wide range of quality buffet breakfast selections. The herbed tomatoes were delicious. Thank you to Elaine the manager for the great chat and coffee!.nnThe hotel also offers a buffet dinner with a wide selection of glorious dishes.nnOverall, this is one of the best hotels I have stayed in. The service I recieved by the attentive and friendly staff here is exceptional. The two men at the reception who attended me were fabulous and genuine!. Five stars!.
