Stayed in a Mayfair King room and impressed with the cleanliness and size of the room. View onlooking Hagley North was a treat, sensor lights in the bathroom and subtle touches like small kitchenette and push handles on drawers all contributed to a wonderful stay. 15 min walk into CBD and 50 metres from bus stop that gets you on the express bus #29 to an from the airport. Staff are very friendly big shout out to Ashleigh!
Had a fantastic 1 night stay at the Mayfair which exceeded my expectations.nnThe room is modern and clean, fairly large. The bed was comfortable and the area around the hotel is fairly quiet.nnA real highlight is that you get unlimited coffee/tea at the restaurant downstairs, and we also got some single use drink vouchers for alcoholic drinks. I thought this was quite generous.nnI did also dine at the hotel restaurant for breakfast, I thought it is a bit pricey but otherwise quite delicious.nnAll staff such as at reception or the cafe were very friendly and welcoming.nnI'd say the only downside is that the location is not very exciting, although with a car it's not a problem. All in all a great place to stay for a quick stopover in Christchurch.
Great food! Very kind staff! Good location too. What made me cringe a bit was there were ants everywhere when we first booked in, but the cleaners did an excellent job and made them go away. The rooms are very nice too! Very pleased
Good, but definitely not a five star hotel and experience! The rooms are clean, comfy, and very spacious; but the hotel falls short of a five star experience. I stayed here for 2 nights following the last leg of my honeymoon throughout the South Island - so we had quite a bit of luggage with us. Upon check-in, there was no offer of help with luggage to bring to the room…I had to ask to use the luggage cart and personally had to unload all our luggage and haul it up to the room! Also, we had a car with us and was assigned self serve parking - when parking our car our assigned spot was taken by another car and it was quite a churn to have the front desk explain that our assigned spot was taken and we needed a new parking spot. With this kind of service as well as lack of amenities like a gym, I left it was quite lacking for what claims to be a five star hotel. However, rooms are nice and the housekeeping is very friendly. It was overall a good stay but definitely not five star!!
Nice modern rooms with all amenities. We booked a suite. Coffee/Tea in the cafe was included, mini bar snacks also included. Breakfast is a la carte. Good food. Location is just fine...15-20min walk from center.
