The Mayfair

We had a wonderful experience staying at The Mayfair in Christchurch. The staff were very friendly and helpful, and we really appreciated that they moved us to a room that was ready when we arrived earlier than the usual check-in time.nnThe room was elegant, comfortable and clean. The view from the window was horrible, but there's not much they can do about that. Thick blackout curtains did their job of blocking that view, as well as keeping out the light so we could sleep in late, if we wanted to, with no concept of night and day.nnWe had a very pleasant and restful stay, and we'd definitely book this hotel again if we're ever back in Christchurch.

Never, ever did we feel as welcome and cared for in a hotel as we did at the Mayfair!nThe rooms, common areas, the lobby and the restaurant are all immaculate. The service was superb. We remain particularly indebted to Zoe, Harry and Natasha for making our stay so lovely.nThe service and the hotel restaurant was outstanding and the food was simple but excellent.nThe Goldfinch 200m away is a small and elegant restaurant for the gourmand. It has an incredibly large wine list.nnVery high marks!!

We had a great Easter experience staying at The Mayfair. A quirky hotel with different options packages for its rooms; a great cafe on the ground floor of the hotel. Hotel location was perfect for us and the room we had was everything we wanted. Parking was easy and the service was on point.

The Mayfair was our first hotel we stayed at once we arrived from the States and it was perfect. Our rooms were ready despite being early and the location allowed us to walk the city with ease. Highly recommend a walk through the botanical gardens. The service staff both at the front desk and especially the bar and restaurant were so helpful and attentive. Really enjoyed the drinks and the breakfast options. Would definitely stay here again.

Such a wonderful group of staff and the hotel is amazing too! We always choose Mayfair when we are in Christchurch. The staff were so attentive, when they found out we were there for my partners birthday, they gave him some chocolates and a happy birthday card signed by everyone and delivered it to our room! It was so sweet and thoughtful and it made our day. Thank you very much to the staff for going out of your way and doing this kind gesture.
