ibis Christchurch

Room clean, and can opt in/out of cleaning. Very central to restaurants, public transport, Cathedral Square and Riverside Markets. Breakfast was ample although the same every day. Front of house staf freindly and helpful. I'd stay here again even though my window looked only at a wall.

We stayed here for 3 nights and the experience was great. The location was perfect for exploring the city and made getting around very convenient. The staff were all warm and welcoming. We were even surprise to discover that the receptionist assisting us was a kababayan. She was increadibly helpful, although I unfortunately forgot her name.nnThe room was clean, well-maintained, and the beds were comfortable.nnWe also had the chance to dine at their restaurant, and the food was great. We love staying at the Ibis when in Christchurch due to the very convenient location and comfortable accommodation… it would be great however if they could introduce a room style that has a king bed for the parents and a king single bed for the other guest child as we find a double bed just a bit small for 2 adults especially when you’re used to a larger bed at home… that is my only complaint though… we love the value for money!

We must have got the worst room in the whole building, leaking toilet, ants, the room is no way sound proof if wanting to stay to get around the city is great but for relaxing & comfort is a massive NO. The breakfast is boring with the same thing every day tasteless what is up with the sloppy eggs? It’s meant to be scrambled but instead is a soup consistency! Paying a decent amount of money for poor quality. Would we come back NO! Check out tomorrow can’t wait. Christchurch itself awesome the accommodation is terrible should be a 1-2 star

Location is excellent but the rooms are a wee but too tiny, even with the twin bed options, so if you have some luggage because you plan to stay for more than 2 nights, I suggest upgrading your room to a suite with separate toilet and shower too. Especially if it's family of 4 or even 3.
