ibis Christchurch

Arrived around 2am with elderly mother. Expedia had not passed on request for joined rooms. Night Manager spent quite a bit of time and effort to achieve this in what appeared to be a near fully booked hotel. He continued to be helpful on our second morning there. All the hotel type amenities were good as was the restaurant for both dinner and breakfast.

The location was perfect for the conference I was attending, and surrounded by beautiful buildings and art. The room was a good size for a short visit for one person, everything I needed. Standout for me was the room service from Perch. Everything I ordered was great, if I lived in Christchurch I'd eat there happily anytime!

The stay was pleasant. Room was good and tidy.nnHowever bathroom supplies were not adequate for our stay. No body lotion or tooth brush/paste were provided. From our past hotel stays this was provided so did not bring them with us.nnBesides that overall stay was good and the people at the reception were welcoming and helpful.

The Ibis is well placed in the city centre, and is close to Te Pae Convention Centre and Tūranga.nnThere is a mart next door where you can purchase common items.nnThe lobby had a modern ambiance with lots of seating areas to work at and or meet acquaintances. The service provided at front desk was exceptional.nnThe rooms are a tad dated, which was not a turn off for me as I knew what I was booking. I had all the amenities that I needed and it was super clean. I really liked the work station.nnThe let down is the view. One colleague was looking into an office building, and another a wall! I was on the seventh floor so had a bit of mountains peeking above the office building. Consider requesting for a higher floor when booking.nnWould recommend.

The rooms were basic and small for a family of 3, but clean and comfortable for basic sleeping and washing requirements for a single night. We were on level 1 on a Thursday night facing Hereford street and didn't hear a single thing from outside.nThere are just basic supplied provided tea, coffee, ironing board, hairdryer but no toiletries other than a pump soap that washes everything. This is not a complaint, just an FYI. For the price it was very reasonable to have minimal extras.nnThe staff were very friendly and helpful, and allowed us to check in 2 hours early.nSuper well located for checking out Christchurch central. We parked our car and didn't use it again until time to go to the airport.nOverall I would stay here again for an overnight stay.
