Crowne Plaza Christchurch, an IHG Hotel

We booked a night here. Our flights were changed by the airline. We requested to change the date. We were even happy to pay for an upgraded room if needed due to availability. They refused to even check. We got a flat no but they are happy to keep the full amount for the room. New Zealand hospitality - I think not.nnThanks for your reply - however the third party was booking.com who I contacted. They were happy to have the date amended as long as Crown plaza agreed. They rang you while I was on hold waiting. They pleaded our case told you it was out of our control due to flight changes. It's your decision to not change it and charge us twice not theirs. The accountability is all yours. I contacted your team twice for help and the third time via booking.com. So please do not pretend to be helpful.

Really enjoyed our time here, the rooms were really tidy and the staff were really accommodating. The lifts had timers on when they were coming up and down. They had a self laundry facility which was very handy. We snatched our room up for a cheap price. I would highly recommend.

Honestly, I have nothing negative to say about my stay here. When we arrived there was a small problem with the wrong room being put into the system but it was immediately solved. The bed was soooo comfortable and the outlook over the city through the window is absolutely incredible. We ordered our meals through room service and while they did take a while to be prepared. It was absolutely worth it. They were warm and delicious. So much care was put into these products and it was better than most restaurants.nMy favourite part of the stay was mentioning that it was my birthday to the receptionist and her giving me a lovely box of chocolates. They were SO good and it was such a sweet gesturennIf you’re staying in Christchurch, please book a room here.

Stayed at this hotel with friends who are Diamond members.. There was no nice welcome on arrival, breakfast was below average, for a hotel of this standard and the only complimentary coffee is one from the elm, which is not drinkable..All other types of coffee, came at an extra charge. Not only, but staff refused with an attitude, that was not at all appropriated..nHere I want to add that, a few days earlier, we stayed at Crown Plaza Queenstown and staff were more than happy to offer all types of coffee complimentary..l like to say that Ben and Allya were very polite and went out of their way to make us feel better..Also having to pay $30.00 for parking its another annoying charge..Last, our coffee cups and wine glasses in the room were never replaced with clean ones for the five days of our stay..Hotel, rooms and location were great..

I was in the executive room, which was quite small. The breakfast was below average for a hotel of this standard, with limited options. The most disappointing part was that only filtered coffee was complimentary, while all other types of coffee came at an extra charge. Overall, for the price and class of the hotel, it was underwhelming. You can find much better service at other hotels in the same price range.
