Golden Hotel

We absolutely loved our stay at the Golden Hotel. As a family with 2 young ones we needed a good sized room, somewhere to make them snacks and a little space for them to play with toys. TnThe Golden hotel provided all of that and more. The kitchenette set up was the best we have come across probably my favorite part. The staff were very friendly and accommodating. The beds are always a hit and miss for us when staying away but the bed here were amazing.

As a meticulous traveler, I would like to share my honest feedback and constructive suggestions based on my recent stay. I hope the management finds these insights helpful for further service enhancement.nnThe Bed & BedroomnThe bed itself was exceptionally comfortable. However, presentation-wise, placing four pillows on the bed by default would be much more logical and visually appealing I was a bit puzzled to find one of the pillows stored in the wardrobe instead. The bed is the soul of a hotel room and usually the first thing a guest notices. While the overall presentation was very neat, we did notice upon arrival that the bedsheet at the bottom-left corner wasn’t properly tucked in—a minor detail, but worth noting for perfection. On a positive note, the bedside master switch control for the living area lights is a brilliant and thoughtful design.nnThe Living & Kitchen AreanThe living space is spacious, pristine, and well-maintained. Providing two sofas equipped with lumbar support pillows showed great attention to comfort and hospitality. The kitchen area was equally clean and well-equipped with all the essentials.nnThe Bathroomn- The Positives: The bathroom was spacious and spotlessly clean. The toiletries provided smelled amazing and performed exceptionally well. There was also ample counter space around the vanity. The bathrobes were fresh, and the slippers were of good quality.n- Areas for Improvement: * Maintenance & Maintenance Checks: The sink drain was clogged, causing the water to drain very slowly. Also, there is a broken clothes hook on the bathroom wall; it would be much better to either remove it entirely or replace it with a new one from a local store, as it’s a quick and low-cost fix that vastly improves visual neatness. I suspect other guests may have brought this up as well. Additionally, the sanitizer bottle on the entrance table was full but the pump mechanism was faulty and couldn't dispense any liquid.nNoise Control: The ventilation fan is quite loud and linked to the main light switch. It would be much better to separate these switches to reduce unwanted noise.nAmenities: The hairdryer felt low-end and inefficient, taking a long time to dry hair, which isn't ideal for hair care; upgrading this would vastly improve the guest experience. Additionally, the lighting above the vanity is a bit dim; installing a dedicated vanity light would be a great addition. A heated towel rail would also elevate the room's premium feel.nLayout/Design: The toilet paper holder is placed in an awkward position that is difficult to reach. Furthermore, the shower door design feels a bit tight and restrictive when opening/closing.nnService & Overall ImpressionnThe front desk staff were extremely polite and welcoming, and the soundproofing of the room was decent. Overall, it was a very comfortable and pleasant stay that offers excellent value for money.

My preferred accommodation when in Christchurch.nExcellent service and high tech facilities, with convenient location directly accessible to shops, restaurants, local parks, and travel routes. There is also a bus stop next door, making it very easy to get to the airport, and the city!

From our 10 days in New Zealand, Golden Hotel was the best hotel we stayed at. The room was large, clean, and had air conditioning. There were also free parking spaces available.nnOur plans changed at the last minute due to a 24-hour flight delay; however, Melody helped us resolve the issue with our accommodation, which we really appreciated.nnIf we have the chance to come back to New Zealand, we will definitely stay here again.

Good value hotel in Christchurch. Close enough to city centre but also reasonably close to airport. Rooms were clean and spacious with parking available. Definitely recommend!
