Golden Hotel

If you're looking for a hub for your adventures in and around Christchurch, this is THE spot, in my opinion.nnI knew straight away that we'd booked somewhere special because the gentleman working the front desk was very welcoming and very helpful. He provided great info about all sorts of stuff we needed in the surrounding area and immediately made my group feel comfortable.nnThe rooms are well appointed, lovely, and comfortable, with lots of handy amenities. I unfortunately got to know the room better than I anticipated, because I caught a cold just before the Christchurch leg of my group's New Zealand adventure. So I spent a few days in the hotel room and frankly, it was very comfortable just relaxing there! And the gentleman at the front desk gave me the addresses of multiple pharmacies within short walking distancennThere's a lovely banh mi cafe right downstairs which was delicious. The ability to wake up, walk downstairs, and grab a cup of tea and a vegan banh mi makes this spot even easier to recommend.

Good, clean rooms. Beautiful rooms. They even provide you with a charger in case you've forgotten yours. The only thing I would say was a downside would be the uncomfortable beds but I'd still give this place a 5 stars!! Definitely will come back.

10/10 would recommend. Host was super helpful and accommodating, we had to book at short notice and she emailed us back at 9pm the night before and was super nice. We landed early and she stored our luggage then called us when the room was ready early. The room was amazing, really warm, clean and super nice... With a rain head shower! I also loved all the plants We booked because it was close to where we were going but it's perfect anyway that we'd definitely just come back there again! Thank you

This was our second time staying here and we were again extremely happy with the service and the rooms. We asked to check in a hour earlier and there wasn’t any problems. Such a nice hotel for a great price. We will definitely be staying here again.

One of the best hotel experiences I've had. Arrived and we're told we had been given a complimentary room upgrade, which was such a nice suprise after a long journey. Staff were lovely and made everything easy and quick, room was immaculate and had everything we could possibly need and more. The television had all streaming platforms which was fantastic. Thank you for giving us the 5 star treatment We will definitely be back and recommending you to everyone we know.
