Southwark Hotel and Apartments

The hotel is great for its price! Modest, clean, affordable and a great location. I truly appreciate that they have a complete set of amenities, even the simple ones such as coffee, tea, and chocolate drink which there is a generous amount. The reception is very informative and very helpful.nnI just spent my entire day walking and exploring and I'm so glad the hotel is surrounded by the botanical garden, riverside market, restaurants, and you can find mini marts all over the place. Super close to the Intercity bus stop also!

Our stay was great! We only stayed one night but I wish we stayed more. We had a two “bedroom” unit which had a lovely spacious living room and kitchen. The main bedroom was large with an en suite bathroom and rack for clothes. Its doors opened up to the balcony view. There was a lofted area with two twin beds which was cute and suitable for youngsters who can brave the staircase. It was really hot up there and there is a fan but only one plug point by the head of the beds, so I’m not sure how practical the fan would have been had we used it since we had to use the plug to charge devices. There was a skylight in nearly all rooms including the bathrooms and lofted area. The only down side is that there’s no elevators so for elderly folks or anyone with difficulty walking up stairs, see if you can request a bottom floor unit. The parking also has to be booked ahead of the stay but there is street parking nearby. I’d definitely stay again!

Great location, Apartment 2 is interesting with a good layout, don't rent if you have access issues plenty of steps to enter and exit. The beds were ordinary, and whilst the room offers wifi, the appliances are dated. We expected more for the tariff asked. All in all great if you need a bed to sleep off a big night but not much else.

My experience was not very good. The reception staff were nice and friendly, but there were several issues:n1.It is very noisy. I can hear people talking loudly outside and even neighbors in their bathroom at night......n2.The wall heater is not working properly. The room remains cold even with it turned on all night. The small heater they replaced didn’t work either.n3.I stayed for three nights, but the floor was never cleaned, even though there were obvious tissue papers on the floor. However, the bathroom was cleaned every day.

Short easy walk from bus interchange , clean tidy accomodation . Easy walk into the city centre . Staff very friendly and helpful , special thankyou to Bethany who was very helpful to me when my international flight was cancelled . No complaints .
