Chateau on the Park - Christchurch, a DoubleTree by Hilton

Really beautiful hotel with beautiful gardens. Clean rooms with comfortable beds. But what we loved most was the service. Whenever we needed something it was promptly brought to the room. The staff also took their time to explain nearby attractions and what is best for us. Their continental breakfast included for diamond members offers very limited option, but the hot buffet offers better food for an additional price. Overall it was a very good experience.

Lovely hotel. I can see what they are trying to do with the gardens and architecture..if you haven't had the luxury of staying in an actual French chateau , this is well done. Found young female receptionist to be be a bit rude and unhelpful but other front desk staff very accommodating. Good range of fully functional amenities in the room. Big lobby spaces around and beautiful flower beds full of roses. Views from 3rd floor out to the mountains and or down on to the gardens.. Brown sugar or at least raw cane sugar would have been nice in the room for coffee or a healthier option to sweeten.

Loved our stay here! It has a beautiful garden in the middle, the rooms are nice, and the bed was comfy. GREAT perks for gold members! We ate at the restaurant both nights. The food is very reasonable for a hotel and everything we got was delicious. The service was a bit slow and our server the first night was actually terrible. We didn’t care that much because we weren’t in a hurry. There is a huge park and botanical gardens a block away, and we would definitely stay here again!

We very much enjoyed our stay. If you like to walk, the location to the park and downtown was great. No doubt the property is a bit older but they’ve done a nice job to keep up with the maintenance. The dinner and breakfast were both very good and were an excellent value. The staff was friendly and was responsive to our queries.
