BreakFree on Cashel Christchurch

I've never been to a worst room like this before. The room was clean, the staff nice but the room was so small, that I hardly could open my case. It might be meant for young people between 18 and 25, travelling with small hand luggage. But not for people with more luggage being on long trip. The bathroom might be even bigger in a train. I definitely would not come back.nBut the location right in the centre is perfect!

While it’s clean and the decor is modern, the beds are close together, and there’s limited space for luggage or personal belongings. It’s a practical room but may feel a little too minimal for those looking for extra comfort.nn3. Reception: The reception area, with its vibrant purple lighting, is modern and functional, though the design might not appeal to everyone. It’s more suited for quick transactions rather than providing a warm, inviting atmosphere.nn4. Common Area: The lounge area is spacious but somewhat lacks character. It’s suitable for quick meals or short breaks, but it doesn’t offer the warmth or comfort that some guests might prefer for extended relaxation.nn5. Location: One of the strongest points of BreakFree on Cashel is its excellent location right in the heart of Christchurch. Being centrally located, it provides easy access to local attractions, shopping areas, and dining options, making it a convenient choice for visitors who want to explore the city without needing extensive transport.

Excellent cleanliness, very good bed, great staff and amazing value. Can’t ask for more at this price point. I’d recommend. Decent location as well… but Christchurch is a very walkable city so there’s no issue with location in general.

I stayed in this hotel for 5 nights. To be very honest and to the point.nnI would never recommend this hotel to someone to chose for stay even for short stays.nYes location wise its located ideally near the shopping area etc. but regarding amenities, services and room size etc. its totally uncomfortable and of no value for money you pay as rent per night. One cannot get relaxed. With this much amount even less one can rent an apartment where all facilities are available.

Stayed here for 1 night while in Christchurch for work. I will be as honest as possible in my review because some of the other comments I have seen need some context!nLocation wise, the hotel is a great spot in the central city. Plenty of shopping and dining options are close by, and there's a mini-mart around the corner. Check-in was quick and staff helpful.nThen you get to the room... yes it is small. If you're travelling with more than 1 bag, I think you might struggle for space. The bed is small - I'm 6ft and my feet touched the end wall, and I couldn't really stretch out. That being said, the mattress and pillows were comfortable. The facilities are basic, but the price reflects this. The restaurant was fine, food was pretty much what I expected.nI wouldn't stay here for leisure, nor could I spend more than 1 night given the size constraints, but for what I needed, it was fine. I would give 2.5* if possible; I think 2 stars makes it look worse than it is, but I wouldn't say it hit 3* for me. Without a word of a lie, I have stayed in a bigger prison cell in Switzerland
