Novotel Christchurch Cathedral Square

I visited Novotel Christchurch Cathedral for the buffet breakfast and overall it was a good experience. The ambience is pleasant, well set up, and the staff were friendly and welcoming.nnThe breakfast spread was quite good with a wide range of options. There was a nice selection of breads, cheeses, cereals, and fresh fruits, which was enjoyable and well presented.nnThe only disappointment was the live egg station. There was no staff member available when I arrived, and despite there being no queue, a simple omelette took over 15 minutes to be served. This took away from an otherwise smooth breakfast experience.nnOverall, a good breakfast with great atmosphere and service, but the live egg station could be better managed to match the rest of the experience.

Stayed as a family of three and booked the Family Suite. The room was spacious, well laid out, and came with the amenities we needed. The bathroom was large and nicely done, with attractive tiles and backsplash.nnGood location facing the park and only a few minutes from the town centre. Overall, a comfortable and convenient stay.

Located opposite the Cathedral and within walking distance to town. The staff were friendly and helpful. Rooms were clean but very dated and in need of an upgrade. The bathroom layout is a little unusual with the vanity located outside, and amenities are very basic. Breakfast had a good spread and was tasty.

The hotel is strategically located in the city center. Unfortunately the cathedral is under renovation and is not visible. The hotel is very beautiful, and the staff is helpful and friendly. The room has an excellent view of the city, the bed is very comfortable, and there is a good selection of pillows. Breakfast was perhaps the only flaw. The savory selection was varied, but the sweets were a bit limited. As for fruit, they served melon pieces with the rind on, which was in contact with the pulp, and we found a couple of pieces with mold...perhaps there is room for improvement. Overall, an excellent hotel.
