Fantastic location! Easy access to all the highlights! Budget feel!nnWe arrived into Christchurch on an international flight from Australia at around 2am. The Novotel staff were kind enough to give us an extended checkout until midday so we could catch up on some sleep.nnThe location was perfect walking distance to all the local sights and highlights of Christchurch.nnThe rooms felts a little dated and lacked some ammenities. But for what we needed on a short overnight it was fine.nnI was travelling with my son so we chose a twin room which was very squeezy and not much space around the beds for our luggage.nnThe view from our room was quite lovely, especially with all the Autumn leaves.nnThe reception area was small and we didn’t get any offer of assistance with our bags to the room. However the staff were friendly, which we appreciated.nnOverall I would stay here again and recommend this hotel to others for a short stay in Christchurch.
We had a very comfortable stay at Novotel Cathedral Square as a family of 4. The location is excellent for exploring the city but navigating the approach to the hotel's tie up parking was tricky and this was the only downside.nnThe staff were consistently friendly and helpful. The rooms were comfortable and well-suited for our family and the breakfast offered a good variety of options to start the day.nnOverall, this is a good family-friendly option for a short stay in central Christchurch and we would happily stay here again.
We had a great stay at Novotel Christchurch. The hotel had everything we need and the room was a good size for two people with large suitcases. There was a fridge which was excellent and bathroom set-up was good with the separate sink. We had a great view of the Cathedral and city and the hotel was very well located but still quiet.
From the time we walked in, to the time we left the staff were super friendly and helpful. The room was big, bright and clean. The bed was very comfortable. The breakfast was good lots of choice available. The shower was fantastic. Overall, the location was great it's a tram ride or short walk to most places.
We booked Novotel for our last 2 nights stay in New Zealand. The check in process was pretty seamless and the receptionist was very friendly and helpful, his name was Jacy. The King Room that we booked was very spacious and very comfortable. It has bathtub, complete amenities such as ironboard and iron. They provided sofa as well. The bed was very comfy and the blanket was warm.nnWe had a few comment on the room and the hotel. First the wall between rooms was quite thin, I could here neighbors talking, plugging in electronics, and a few steps. Also it was pretty hard to find the spot to park or stop because no clear sign that we can stop there considering the road looked exactly like sidewalk. It only said unloading area but we were not sure if we could stop there or park our car there for the check in. Also they had no free parking, we had to pay for $25 for 24 hours or $35 if we wished to use valet. We chose valet option because we only needed 1 day parking and only $10 difference.nnOverall I would suggest for tourists to stay here. Its pretty close to the mall, cafes, riverside market, so that you dont need to pay for uber to go anywhere. Also it was a pleasant stay at the hotel itself.
