Sandy Feet Hotel

I've had a few days to reflect on the stay and I'm still giving it one star. I wouldn't recommend staying here, at all, mostly for the attitude of the owner. I was part of a big group of 10. Myself and 2 colleagues were supporting 7 intellectually disabled clients on a holiday for 5 nights. A 24/7 job. The clients were oblivious to any issues and really enjoyed their stay but unfortunately there were far more negatives than positives. To be fair I can't really think of a positive.nnThe biggest thing to note was the passive aggressive nature of scribbled notes and information all around the accommodation. Don't do this, don't do that. Very unwelcoming. One particular incident was a light was left on in a bathroom and next minute a note appears saying please turn off when you leave! The note was then transferred when a colleague moved to a different room. The bathrooms weren't attached to the room. Why not just turn the light off and not make a big deal?nnRooms aren't serviced daily during your stay. Because I couldn't be bothered engaging with the owner due to the attitude we placed any dirty towels in the hallway. The bathrooms we had weren't ventilated. The cottage out the back had no air con. The suggestion by the owner was to open a window. Not particularly helpful when it had been 30 degrees outside one day. We did ask for a fan but opening a window was all the reply we had. A fan later in our stay was then spotted in a garage.nnI won't post photo's of the notes but they are there. Thankfully the place is up for sale and if it does sell the new owners will improve the accomodation and have a friendlier demeanor.nnThe aircon in the room I stayed in was sufficient but the filter hadn't been cleaned for some time. It was coated in dust.nnAlso note there is only parking on the street. Two signs on the gate allude to this. The street is reasonably quiet and safe.nnA rodent was spotted out by the cottage also. It seemed friendly.nnThis isn't accommodation I recommend to anyone. It's not a hotel, more like a guest house.nnYou've been advised.

I booked and paid for 3 nightsnaccommodation from Monday 29th. When we arrived to your motel we found it has a long steep stair case which we were not aware of at time of booking This made it unsuitable for my partner and his spinal injury. We decided to find somewhere else for our 3 nights and you told us you were happy to refund and would contact me. 1 week later and I have not heard from you or received a refund.nAccording to the CGA I have a right to anrefund as room was not as advertised

Something fishy going on with Sandy Feet Hotel also known as North Beach Lodge. We arrived after check-in after driving all day, many apologies, why an establishment like this hasn't created a later check in system, I'm sure we are not the first.nnAfter a rude phone call from a man that talked to us like we were children late for dinner with our strict parents. We apologised and said we were on our way, he told us the key was in the door and Mary was waiting. Feeling nervous but tired we tried to enter quietly not to disturb other guests, noticing my name written on a white board in the entrance way that felt very invasive. Mary came at us with heed as she wanted us to explain ourselves, why we were late, I tried to explain but being shouted at the way we were I felt moreso like I needed to stand up to being treated that way more than anything else. She demanded I show payment, and when I explained it was through booking and they have my details she demanded we just leave, that was a grateful invitation that we took immediately.nnIf you've read this and still book at the newly named North Beach Lodge then you've chosen your path.nnWe ended up driving to Marble Hill Doc site, and slept under the stars a stunning evening after such a strange situation.

Booked on line for a room with a bathroom, paid, rang to confirm. Turn up and they had double booked so try to put me across the road in a single bed with a shared bathroom. No where near good enough. Should have tried harder if they messed up

This place has a very confident hotel and the room number was four. There were three beds and the shower was comfortable and hot shower was hot and comfy. I know the owner is a little bit strict about the hotel rules, but if you use it nicely he will say nothing so I love this hotel. There is a free wifi there too! I recommend this hotel to everyone!
