Novotel Christchurch Airport

I told my well travelled son this morning that we were staying at the airport Novotel. He was surprised because he knew we were driving to Picton. I explained that the Novatel is the best hotel in Christchurch In my opinion. It’s relatively new, Completed in 2019. I like good quality. The view from our window is of the tarmac. I love watching What happens there. Airport logistics are amazing. The view from the dining room is also great as we watch planes takeoff and land. With regard to food Srin, The chef made a perfect soft omelette this morning. In Queenstown the day before upon my third request for a soft omelette I gave up. It was refreshing to have a perfect one without even asking for it.

Great location a few steps from airport.nRooms are spacious and clean, freshly refurbished.nNZ organic toiletries.nWould definitely stay again due to convenient location.nBar at the top level is a bonus offering verity of food and buffet breakfast for $40 per person.n4-6pm happy hour

The hotel is within walking distance from the airport. When checking in, I was asked for the card I used to make the booking. This was charged at a higher rate than what the Accor app stated. When I queried this, they advised there was a surcharge for using a credit/debit card or cash. I was not given the option to use a different payment method at the time. That would be my only negative feedback. The room was lovely and overlooked the airport. There is a filtered water machine on every level which also dispensed sparkling water which I thought was cool. We had a robot deliver a bucket of ice to our room. Only downfall in the room is the fridge is packed with minibar and food etc, there wasn't much room for the things we wanted to put in the fridge. We dined at the restaurant on the top floor and I have to say, the meals were hands down the best food I had ever tasted. The staff were friendly, attentive and they lifted the blinds so guests could watch the big planes take off. Was quite extraordinary!

Had a fantastic 2 nights at Novotel CHC airport. Staff checked us in quickly though we arrived past midnight. Well maintained and great staff service. Would definitely book again. The breakfast was a good spread and i tired the Spirulina drink for thr first time ever. Great view from my room, absolutely no aircraft noise nicely soundproofed. Also loved that i could walk to the Christchurch Antartic centre and also get taxis / uber /buses easily

We had a flight next morning, so needed to stay somewhere close to the airport. Novotel’s location was much better than I expected. The rental car return and the check in location was literally steps away. The check in process was very easy, the staffs were very helpful and the room was cozy and comfortable. We slept really well and woke up in time to catch the flight. There were airport carts right outside the hotel, which was very helpful for us to carry our luggages. I would definitely stay there again if I fly out of Christchurch. Highly recommended.
