I very much needed a luxurious and calm place for my stay in the city. I was attending a 4 day conference at The Sofitel on Collins which made this the perfect stay. I was pleased with the view, the room facilities, the cleanliness and the design. The staff were lovely and would always greet me with a hello upon entry to the lobby. This helped me to feel at home as I was travelling alone. I would stay again without hesitation.
This was my first time in Melbourne, and I chose Sofitel because of its CBD location, which turned out to be incredibly convenient. You can easily walk to restaurants and attractions everywhere!nAs for the room, it felt quite dated, though it was clean. However, the bathroom definitely needs an upgrade. The shower is still inside the bathtub, which felt narrow, cramped, and not comfortable at all.nThe service here is a bit of a mixed bag. Some staff were amazing—special shoutout to ** Dean at the concierge desk ** , who was super supportive, gave excellent restaurant recommendations, and was highly attentive.nOn the other hand, the Club Lounge experience could be improved. Since we stayed over the weekend, it was packed, and they had to limit guest time. We went in at 6 PM last night, and the staff told us for the first session I only had 30 minutes, which felt way too rushed.nBreakfast was decent with a wide variety of options—some dishes were delicious, while others were just okay.
We had an enjoyable stay at the Sofitel Melbourne on Collins. The room was luxurious with great views. The staff were friendly and attentive. Excellent location, with the tram stop outside the door. We stayed for a week and had a great experience. Highly recommended.

What an absolute treat to complete my 2 week road trip in Australia!nnWe stayed here for the final 2 nights of my road trip from Brisbane to Melbourne.nWe booked a Luxury Corner King Room and a Twin Room and were not disappointed. The corner room was spacious and beautifully decorated. Plenty of seating available overlooking the spectacular views of Melbourne.nnThe coffee and tea making facilities were of a high standard. A well stocked fridge, spa robe/slippers, and an iron/ironing board were all available in the room.nnStaff were very friendly and helpful. Housekeeping staff were accommodating and the service received was faultless. Parking on arrival was all sorted on our behalf and luggage taken to our room.nnThe gym was adequate - some main equipment missing but enough there to make do.nnThe hotel is situated perfectly in the city centre - easy access to all attractions, close to the Yarra River, stadiums and numerous parks. St Kilda Beach is a 6km Walk away.nnOverall a fantastic end to our stay - I would love to stay here again in the future and would highly recommend this hotel.
