Stamford Plaza Melbourne

Visited this hotel on Business during Chinese New Year. The hotel was fully booked and no one told us on check in that there will be machine drilling starting at 630am through the end of the business day. When we complained that it was impossible to sleep they said there was nothing they could do not even move us to a different room. No apologies. When asked to accommodate a late check-out the following day we were only given the standard extra hour no consideration as to the noise we had to endure and our inability to sleep. This hotel offers nothing in form of hospitality. At check in I asked for my tax invoice to be emailed to me and was told I would get it at check out. I left the hotel at check out and it was not ready. I came back 4 hours later and they still did not have it. I was rushing to the airport and asked them to email it to me. More than 24 hours later I have not received a tax invoice for my stay. I absolutely will never stay here again and I would encourage people to stay somewhere else. The rooms are 3 star at best. It is an old hotel with remodeled rooms but they are still only 3 star. There are many other great customer service hotels nearby.

Don’t waste your time or money - worst hotel experience of my life! I booked this hotel for an early birthday present for my partner as we had something on in the city. I booked based on the photos online of the New Superior Queen room. It was advertised as a new room and quite modern. It also stated there would be big windows with lots of natural light. However the room we were placed it was terrible. The room was like a dungeon. So old fashioned, musty and only had one small window looking into another building, so next to no natural light at all. I spoke to 3 separate staff memebers, who assured me this was the same room I booked online however they didn’t seem to care at all. If I knew this is the room I would be put in, there I no way I would have booked this. The only positive was the Valet staff were extremely friendly and great at their jobs. Overall I was so disappointed with this experience and there is no way I would be back.

Stamford Hotel is suitable for travellers who like to have a quiet self-contained place to stay. It is located reasonably close to shops, entertainment and sporting quarters of Melbourne. The suites are clean and quite freshly painted. Each have it's own furnished kitchen with cooking facility, a quiet corner with writting table, a dining area, a lounge area, bedroom and a bathroom with bath tub spa and shower. The bed sheets and towels are clean. The entertainment system is reasonably up-to-date. The downside is there isn't any good view on most of the rooms despite each room have at least two windows. And since the building is surrounded by other equally tall buildings, the room may appear dark without turning the lights on. The hotel have a gym and a covered swimming pool.

Stayed here for four nights while on holiday. Staff were great, helping us with our luggage (we had a lot as we had a baby with us). Hotel facilities like swimming pool, sauna, gym were great. Location is great too. Room was clean but looked worn out. TV control box was slow and made a loud noise when turning off, which isn't great with a sleeping baby in the room.

Attended a work function at the Stamford Plaza. The room was clean ND tidy, we didn't requiruch in the way of extra equipment IT etc. Food was decent with a morning and afternoon break and a good lunch. Coffee is not great, easy to find a good take-away close by though.
