Inspired by the rag traders of the early 1900's in nearby Flinders Lane, and the French fashion influence on the ‘Paris end’ of Collins Street, QT Melbourne is opening its doors on September 5, 2016.

I was pretty disappointed with my stay at QT Melbourne, especially given the brand’s reputation.nnThe biggest issue was the bedding. The sheets felt rough and had a strong synthetic feel rather than soft cotton. They were heavily pilled and uncomfortable to sleep on, and I also found hair on the bedding when I arrived.nnThe pillows weren’t great either, and there was no pillow menu.nnI was also surprised that the room didn’t include complimentary bottled water, which is something I’d expect at this price point.nnThe TV was another odd issue. The picture had a noticeable blue tint, and the sound settings seemed off. I watch the same show regularly, and female voices sounded unusually deep, almost like male voices. There didn’t seem to be any way to adjust or reset the picture or audio settings.nnThis was my first time staying at QT and I expected a much better experience. Overall, the room lacked the comfort and attention to detail I’d expect from a hotel in this category.
The hotel and its location were excellent. However, it was the people and the outstanding service that truly made the experience memorable and would bring us back again. We were treated exceptionally well, and the team went above and beyond to take care of us while celebrating my fiancée’s birthday.
Looking at previous reviews, many of my comments are similar. The shower water goes everywhere. If you shower at night and then go to the toilet halfway during the night, be careful not to slip over and break your hip. Rooftop opens at 3pm and the sun sets at 5:30pm. Maybe open it with no bar, so guests can sit up there and do some work/read a book.nnThe AI lift commentary was very entertaining. However, could be a bit distasteful with the wrong person in the lift. The room was nice and large. You could hear some noises from other levels but fortunately was not in the middle of the night.nnThank you to Aidan for doing what he could to make our stay comfortable. He is the staff member that shows 5 star commitment and care.
Checked in for 3 nights, the room was a well appointed King Room and everything we needed was present and available. The finishes are quality and the amenities are high end and as expected. We had an issue with the shower and it was rectified quickly. The staff on the desk were beyond helpful and treated us with the kindest respect I failed to see what the man standing at the door does as he ignored most guests as they entered or moved to their Ubers. The hotel has a great selection of F&B options if you don’t want to journey beyond the front doors. However the location is perfect for anyone wanting to fully explore Melbourne CBD
I don't even know where to begin. We had our wedding reception at QT on the 10th July in their Premiere room and it couldn't have been more perfect. The staff were attentive, kind, helpful and nothing felt like we were asking too much. They all had such an amazing positive attitude. Alisha the event coordinator was absolutely amazing to communicate with in preparations leading upto our day answering every silly question i asked and again never made me feel silly or annoying! Truly an angel at what she does it's no wonder QT has her on staff!!! Now Louis, the man, the legend. He was our goto for the night who ran the function. That man was ON TOP of everything, and never faltered. I had so many compliments from all our guests on how amazing he was professional, great drink mixer and the most positive can do attitude you;ve ever seen!! The Chef, I wish I had the chance to eat more of his food because everyone said it was AMAZING! He put a plate aside for Aidan and I but we were so distracted I think i only got a single bite of each dish but again our guests were amazed at his creations. He also was extremely accommodating for my sister who is celiac, serving her, her own plate of gluten free food directly to her and ensuring she had enough food and wasn't left hungry. The attention to detail from everyone involved was truly a godsend and made us so happy, we felt so cared for from beginning to end. After our function ended we went up to the rooftop where the hospitality continued, every staff member in the building from mixologists to security guards made us feel welcomed and accommodated. Many of our guests stayed at QT aswell for the weekend and the rooms and cleanliness was amazing, a guest mentioned to me she ordered room service and it was divine!nnIn summary; If you're looking for a venue in the CBD you truly can't look past QT Melbourne, they are the best in the business in all areas. I only wish I lived in Melbourne so I could revisit more regularly. Although we will certainly be back, we are so grateful to every staff member that we encountered throughout our visit for making our day so special!
