The breakfast at the restaurant was impressive, with a wide variety of fresh, high-quality options. The staff were numerous, polite, and attentive, constantly replenishing dishes and cutlery. As a five-star hotel, the restaurant experience truly met expectations.nnHowever, the guest room facilities were somewhat disappointing. The amenities felt outdated, though the room was clean upon arrival. It was also my first time encountering a room layout where the bed faced west, which didn’t feel ideal, especially with the bathroom located directly behind the headboard.nnThe biggest downside was the poor soundproofing of the drainage system, which was particularly disruptive for light sleepers. To make matters worse, the mattress caused back pain, which further detracted from the overall comfort. For a five-star hotel, the room failed to meet expectations in terms of comfort. I wouldn’t recommend this hotel to guests who prioritize sleep quality.
We recently spent two nights in a suite at The Grand Hyatt Melbourne, and it was an exceptional experience. The suite was luxurious and well-appointed, providing us with a very comfortable stay. The highlight of our mornings was breakfast at Collins Kitchen, where the variety and quality of the offerings were outstanding.nnWe also had access to the lounge, which was a fantastic addition to our stay. The service was impeccable, and the amenities in the lounge added a touch of convenience and luxury to our visit.nnOverall, The Grand Hyatt Melbourne exceeded our expectations with its top-notch service, elegant accommodations, and excellent dining options. Highly recommend this hotel for anyone looking to enjoy a sophisticated and comfortable stay in Melbourne.
Very easy to get to using airport bus + free tram. Beautiful hotel, clean, spacious room. Bathroom contained lovely deep bath to relax in. A few unexpected little extras includingnfree pod coffee in the room. Very comfortable bed and pillows. Perfect place to stay while attending a conference in the hotel
Very good location with good restaurants nearby. Went for runs along yarra river and Fitzroy garden. Usual quality for Hyatt. The gym looks nice though the pool is small so I did not jump in. Housekeeping ladies did wonderful job each day! Free tram within zone just 100m away. I would stay here again next time!
My 15 yr old daughter was stuck in a lift for 17 minutes. She was on the phone having a panic attack and none of the staff were communicating with me. In fact the two people on reception were rude.nCheck took far too long. over 20 minutes.nDoors in amenities and the rooms are hard to close.nThe beds are too soft, the pillows are thin and quite hideous.nThe amenities hours are limitednThe cleaning needs an upgrade.nI had high expectations and have been sadly disappointed. We had booked a second night but I do not think we will be using it. Its one of the worst hotel experiences we have had
