Stayed here for the grand prix. Booked a room with club lounge access. Service from staff was excellent. The club lounge was a great place to unwind after a day out with complimentary food and drinks between 6-8pm. Buffet breakfast at Collins Kitchen in the lobby was fantastic.nnLocation wise the hotel is in a great spot. It is within the free team zone and the nearest tram station is less than 100 metres away.nnThere were a few minor issues during my stay. Bed had no bed sheet, only a doona and took multiple calls to housekeeping to rectify. Entire hotel lost hot water for about an hour one night. Furniture in rooms is a little tired and could do with an update. Paying over $800 a night I expected a little better.nnOverall a very nice hotel and I would stay here again.
Flawless indeed! Initially harboring doubts about this place, I was pleasantly surprised by its serene ambiance, facilitating a superb night's rest on a comfortable bed. The staff exhibited unfailing warmth and hospitality from check-in to check-out, leaving a lasting impression. Furthermore, the breakfast offerings surpassed expectations with its quality, freshness, and temperature. Without hesitation, I will opt for this hotel once more should I revisit Melbourne.
Staff are lovely and super accommodating. Location is great, close to everything and tram stop a couple minutes walk away. The rooms likely need a refresh, they're looking a little tired. I would caution anyone who likes to sleep in past 7:30am - it seems the housekeeping staff get going around this time and other guests going down for breakfast and the rooms are not even a little bit sound proofed. You can also hear the plumbing from surrounding rooms, so you will know when your neighbours are having a bath or a shower, or even flushing their toilets. Lifts can be a little slow so hopefully you're not rushing to meet a taxi or grab a particular tram. Window furnishings are great, blinds and double layered curtains make for a nice dark room. Buffet breakfast is excellent, only iffy thing is the poached eggs can be overdone sometimes. They make excellent coffee though! Keyless entry via the app also doesn't work reliably so make sure you bring the physical key card with you. Overall a nice place to stay, just wish that the rooms were a little more quiet!
The view and the bed were great. However you can hear noises from outside and the people in opposite rooms. The shower door sounds like it's going to break every time you open it. The sink hardly drains and seems clogged. Lights are going crazy in the bathroom like a strobe light. The shower head itself is not very good, and pressure is uneven. The water temperature is very difficult to get right. It goes very hot quickly or lukewarm. It's not very good for a 5-star hotel. Also, we were charged for tea we never received at breakfast. They removed it, but they did not seem to realize what had happened. Staff need to be more aware.
Great hotel and lounge! Staff were polite but particular about not touching the lounge food even though it was set out until exactly 6pm. Great gym. Great views and location. Highly recommended in Melbourne.
