We booked directly with Q1, 7 months in advance for an 11-day stay to celebrate our 5-year anniversary and a surprise engagement, paying over $2,000 and clearly noting the occasion. My fiancé also called multiple times ahead to organise proposal arrangements. Unfortunately, the experience was extremely disappointing.nnWe were placed on Level 6 despite booking a Hinterland mountain view. The view was of the street and a building directly opposite, offering little privacy completely inconsistent with Q1’s branding as the tallest building with “amazing views.”nnWhen we raised concerns on day one, we were told to stay the night and that it would be “fixed” the next morning. Instead, we were told we’d need to pay an $84 cleaning fee just to move rooms. We spent hours arguing in person and on the phone, with no resolution.nnDespite advising reception we would be at Movie World, we received a call at 10am telling us to vacate immediately, still pay the fee, and be without a room from 10am–4pm. During these discussions, staff repeatedly emphasised that they “needed to sell the room,” making it very clear that revenue was being prioritised over customer care.nnRather than assisting, we were repeatedly upsold a $1,600 room upgrade, which felt inappropriate given the situation and only added to the stress.nnWe were eventually moved on the third night, still paying the cleaning fee. We were promised champagne and chocolates as goodwill but received a $14 sparkling wine and $19 chocolates, despite the website listing champagne options worth $50–$80, which would have reasonably covered the fee we were forced to pay.nnThe lack of empathy, poor communication, aggressive upselling, and clear focus on money over guest experience completely overshadowed what was meant to be my surprise proposal. This stay fell far below expectations.
Q1 resort and spa, in exquisite Gold Coast! We spend 4 days here and loved our time at this beautiful hotel.nWe booked an ocean view one bedroom apartment and were upgraded to two bedrooms, it was huge like a 1000 sq feet, including a large living room ,kitchen ,2 dining rooms, 4 piece bathroom and two bedrooms.nTwo zones of climate control, dishwasher, laundry and dryer, a safe,and full kitchen along with all cutlaries, pots and pans,dishes, tea coffee,sugar,milk, salt and pepper! Dish washer soap and laundry soap were provided.nViews from the living room dining room and bedroom were to die for!nEasy to communicate with the staff.nPublic transport was the best part of the trip, all fares on any mode of state transport , be it a bus, tram, train or ferry is 50 cents and you just have to tap your credit or debit card, and we did a round day trip to Brisbane for $1.50 each!nBeautiful surfing beaches, delicious cuisines, shopping and blue sunny skies are right outside the door of the hotel!nTram is like 12 steps away from the entrance.nWould love to stay here any time and highly recommend this place!
Enjoying a couple of wks in a luxury ocean view apartment - 1705 .nnAll of the staff have been extremely helpful and provided great customer service. The check in was quick and easy and free on-site parking was appreciated.nnThe apartment is beautiful, a massive 140sq and finished to a high standard with fantastic views. The resort has three pools; one heated outdoors so you can enjoy even if the weather is a little cooler. There is also a sauna, steam room, spa and lap pool. Beach is a 5 minute walk away.nnDo not use the little shop opposite - staff are rude and miserable and no one needs that!nnThe apartment could benefit from being more equipped. A few things missing inc; frypan, sieve , colander, chopping board, more hangers, oven dish, dustpan/brush.
We recently stayed here for our family holiday, location was perfect and staff were very helpful and attentive during our stay, however we felt that for a 4.5 star property the rooms were not quite up to scratch. The views were beautiful and the apartments spacious but the bedding was below average and you’d probably find better in a 3 star property. Sheets of poor quality and barely fitted the beds and blankets were worn and had holes all through them. We had a rollaway for our teenage son and it was so uncomfortable he ended up on the floor as no other alternative.nCost cutting was obvious throughout the room with limited supplies like dishwashing liquid/ extra teabags etc having to be paid for and the scourer to was dishes been cut in half. Extra tea towels etc also came at a charge. We were there for 5 days so amenities should have been given to accommodate this without extra charges. Utensils in room were very worn, tongs etc didn’t work and knives were blunt. Not even a chopping board was provided.nToilet seat and showerheads in bathroom broken/loose and wouldn’t stay in place properly.nLifts were a pain as under maintenance but would hope this was a short term issue.nFor a supposed 4.5 star property and the price we expected more and felt that these little things and the obvious penny pinching really let the property down.nNot sure I would recommend this property if you are looking for luxury accommodation.
Went for the Buffet Breakfast.nGreat range of food. Cooked foods as well as plenty of fruits, Yoghurt, a variety of breads and spreads. A buffet of delicious pastries and fresh pancakes. Loved the rack of fresh honeycomb. Cereals, juices and of course coffee or tea.nAll topped of with a spectacular 360deg view of the Gold Coast.
