Craythorne's Public House

We had a great meal here last night, everything we had was delicious, both kids and adults cleared their plates. The staff were awesome, particularly the guy who served us. Even on a busy night he happily chatted with the kids, made them special waters and gave them extra chocolate sauce. We will definitely be back, thanks so much.

Spent our Sunday lunch here, great service, all team members catered for your needs. The meal wasn’t great. Hand cut chips were soggy, the kids cheese burger was so over cooked my daughter had to stop eating it as it was too hard to bite though, very well charred.

Booking for dinner at 6pm, didn’t receive dinner until 7.30pm, we ordered an entree that arrived WITH the main at 7.30pm. When it came to ordering, we were told that two of the items we wanted were unavailable, which was hugely disappointing. There were hardly any people in the restaurant while we watched every plate of food come out of the kitchen and head straight to the bar. A steak knife we were given for our meal was incredibly filthy and looked as though it hadn’t been washed at all. Our waitress Chloe was an absolute star and her table side manner was on point. Chloe was very apologetic about the wait and gave us a round of free drinks which was so very appreciated. The food itself once it arrived, was lovely. Our sirloin steak was quite dry unfortunately, and not cooked medium rare, it was medium-well. The lamb was stunning and the entree of beef brisket croquettes slapped SO hard! They were the pick of the night alongside the lamb.nnWould definitely come back, but when it’s not so busy, as clearly the restaurant wasn’t prepared for such a busy night. As a suggestion, perhaps let the wait staff know to tell the guests what’s not available before they order.nnFront of house lady was superb, full of energy and enthusiasm even though she was run off of her feet.

I haven’t been here for years and had heard it had been done up, I was pleasantly surprised, it looked amazing, the staff were well mannered and helpful. For a Sunday afternoon it was busy and had a great atmosphere. The food we ordered came out quickly and was good value for the price we paid.nWill gladly revisit in the near future.

A fantastic new addition to Halswell!nThe design and interior have clearly been very thoughtfully considered, it’s evident a lot of care and investment! has gone into creating a welcoming space. An absolute asset to our community.nnWe loved sitting in the sunny courtyard, especially being able to relax while the kids enjoyed the fully enclosed play area.nnThe food was exceptional! generous portions and great value.nnWell done, Tom and your team. Huge kudos to the chef and kitchen crew too!nnYou'll be seeing a lot more of us!
