Craythorne's Public House

Nice location along main road, very warm welcome and well looked after by the waitstaff and bar tender we were in the restaurant April 21 about 5pm, fabulous burger good flavor, the fried chicken is perfect and we really enjoyed our desserts. Great food and service for a pub. My wife actually finished her food and left nothing for me which is a rarity. The bar tender also made a custom drink request for my wife and I, greatly appreciated.

Service was top notch!!!nThe lighting was a bit dark for us. We had our 10 month old Granddaughter with us.nHowever the food was disappointing for me and my husband. We all got Wagyu Steak. Hubby and I had the mashed potatoes with our steak, while our adult kids had the salad and fries with their steak.nWe both ordered medium rare. The steak tasted good but it was almost cooked. The mashed potatoes was so salty and I had chunks of potatoes in mine. I couldn't finish it due to the saltiness of it. Hubby finished his meal.nWe both just finished work and was looking forward to a nice dinner outing.nOur kids steak meal was good. They enjoyed it.nWe also ordered brisket broquettes, chicken burger & fries, and buffalo wings. They were delicious thank you.nMy almond hot chocolate was very nice, too.

The cocktail's are lovely.nThe service was okay.nPlenty of seating.nMyself and friend were warned of a booking and having to move once one person arrived.nThere was no evidence of this prior to sitting, All this is relevant to a first visit and incredibly helpful from staff who delivered to the choice of table we selected.nI'm not sure if I would visit again, sadly or recommend

Excellent service. But my pasta ditch which was described as creamy sauce had been hanging around too long and the cream had just turned to grease. A bit disappointing in factnJust don’t think the kitchen could deal with a big group of people are ordering at the same time, or they should be hanging around in a warming drawer for awhile

I hosted my son’s 1st birthday at the living room and it was a breeze. The team at Halswell accommodated the dietary requirement of my guest. All my guests enjoyed the food and the kids enjoyed hanging inside the living room area despite the rainy weather outside.
