The Surrey Hotel

This was the second time I have stayed at the Surrey hotel, both experiences have been pretty great. Love the indoor pool, love the restaurant i had a brilliant meal there for a very reasonable fare nothing was too much trouble, onsite guest laundry, well appointed rooms although right outside our room I could hear a loud drain running with the rain all night we were on the level of the restaurant and the back carpark on a dry night, and potentially all the other rooms with the drain not right outside wouldn't have this issue. The service was amazing and friendly. Good location, like very easy to the cbd, carparking is included, the hotel has a relaxed and english country vibe to it and even the soap they use in the bathroom is devine!, I would highly recommend to stay.

We have had a beautiful stay here at Surrey Hotel, the staff are absolutely amazing and accommodating on short notice, the place is very comfortable. Rooms are exactly as described, bathrooms have heated floor and good pressure showers. Location is great for inner city trips, very close. Every one is very friendly. If I could give a higher rating for this place I really would. We will definitely be back again.nnThank you Surrey for being accommodating and welcoming

After a long plane ride we enjoyed walking into the city center from the Surrey hotel. The hotel is nice and clean but not super modern. Would definitely stay again.

If you have medium expectations, the Surrey is a good place to stay when visiting Auckland, especially if you have a car. It is fairly central and close to a great nearby cafe called Toast and Tonic, which serves some of the best coffee in Auckland.nnWhile the rooms have been upgraded over the years, there are a few maintenance details that let it down. The glass shower doors were not aligned correctly and jammed, and the shower handles had exposed bulging rubber hoses. The restaurant had also run out of chocolate powder, so chocolate drinks were unavailable.nnOnly 2 towels were initially provided for 3 people staying, however the on call staff quickly resolved this and were friendly and helpful, which was appreciated.

Really happy with our two night stay at the Surrey. All the staff were super friendly and helpful. Rooms clean and fresh. Pool kept the kids happy. Food at the pub was delicious! We had a breakfast and a dinner meal, both times with 10 people and the food was hot fresh and delicious. It’s not a super fancy hotel but it was everything we needed for our little Auckland vacation - proximity to the zoo was super helpful too!
