Fantastic hotel to stay in to see Auckland, we arrived by car but were dropping the car back at the rental place as soon as we checked in. I accidentally stopped at the grand hotel which is just across from SkyCity but the staff there were more then happy to take our bags across to the correct part of the hotel and take them to our rooms. All the staff were super friendly and happy to help and advise us of the best way to get to the airport. The room service team were great delivering to our room on a public holiday when most locations nearby were closed.
Unbelievable experience. Stayed 2 nights, Sat and Sun, Premium king room comfortable and roomy. Rain shower head, excellent pressure. Fantastic room service and extremely helpful. Clean, tidy with replacements upon request. Plenty of food options and casino well staffed, clean and highly enjoyable with electronic tickets to play on gaming machines making it safer to play instead of cash. Was quite impressed. Walkability: Everything you could need in walking distance, from shopping on Queen Street to sky tower and variety of other activities to take in. Food & drinks: So many restaurants to choose from, fantastic selection, reasonable pricing for a 4. Andy's Bar and Grill recommended for a great size burger, fries and you must try the cheesecake with strawberry compote. To die for.
The venue needs to lift their game when it comes to customer service. So many staff on over the gaming floor, but if you win, get ready for a decent line up and que time in the cashier line! Poor service! The venue is happy to take your money as quick as they can, but when it comes to cashing in your winnings, get ready for a wait. I guess they want you to leave the line and go lose your winnings, no interest for them as a business to speed this service up! Poor service! Table staff friendly and happy, busy venue, and a bar that has plenty of drinks on tap, but pricey as well. Lift the service at the cashier!
Rooms are comfortable but small, smart TV, quality Tea selection. However, not enough lighting. A dimmer with option to brighten the room would be good. In the bathroom definitely brighter lights needed. The shower area needs updating. Old fashioned tub and shower is dangerous, not enough room, plus difficult to get in. A handrail is provided, regardless, anyone with leg issues would find it hard.
Outdated bathrooms, while checking in reception staff look bit lost and while checking out again no thank you and please no eye contact felt awkward. Study table drawers were opening all the time because there channels were loose. This was our 5-6 stay in last one year.. highly unlikely we will be back. Felt really bad this time. Housekeeping didn’t make our room and when came back the call centre lady said because the room was discounted we don’t do housekeeping.. Room 216 date 24-26 April 2024. Rooms: Housekeeping didn’t do our rooms. We had to make a request. Poor room condition
Have stayed here a few times now, just recently as a birthday gift. Rooms are clean, and the beds are very comfortable. The bathroom great size and shower had great water pressure. The hallways are very warm and muggy, thankful for a/c in rooms. Casino is great, as is the service for drinks. Staff are friendly and accommodating.
I received an excellent service from a staff member who was working at 6.00-6.30am at the casino area in front of an elevator. I arrived at sky city early, and the elevator brought me into the casino area. He advised me which floor is the hotel and he assisted me to get to the hotel. Very courteous and very informative. He even pressed the elevator up for me and told me exactly the details. Best service. Thank you very much.
Sky City Hotel in New Zealand offers decent rooms and is conveniently located in the heart of the city. Its central location makes it easily accessible, just a half-hour drive from Auckland Airport. Perfect for travelers seeking comfort and convenience!Rooms: 4/5
The room was very clean and the furnishings were nice and there were two mini sparkling wines as it was a birthday celebration which was a nice touch. However, empty bar fridge, no extra pillows, no bathrobes - you have to request them and the same with toothbrush kits which are charged for! We had made an online reservation but check in wasn't quick. Paid $60 for valet parking but waited 40 mins at checkout for the car to be brought to us it would have been quicker and cheaper to bypass it and park ourselves. Cordis was the same price and offered full amenities in the rooms. We would not book a room with Sky City again.
Always amazing and enjoyable and got I.d'd for the first time In over ten yrs at the casino entrance. . . . Definitely gave me a self confidence/worth boost thanks guysRooms: 5/5
