Albion Hotel

Did not know how to get into the hotel as the reception is upstairs via the entrance from the gamingroom. Bed nicely done,but looks like the rooms were last cleaned few days ago although housekeeping was available. Lots of hair in the bathroom. First room I was checked into had hair and lollies paper and dusty. was shown another room with no windows and didn't like that. And the reception lady was getting mad at me when showing me another room saying is the last room I am seeing. And guess what this had the most hair of all the others and I was like am just here for one night. Definitely not worth the price. The location is great,close to public transportation and most attractions in town. I wouldn't recommend this hotel,my first and last stay. Hi there. Thanks for your response but please don't lie and say they offered me a refund,because if they had I would have taken it, But that was never mentioned by your staff However if you are to respond please be truthful and my review was sharing my experience it was your staff that got mad. Yes $90 is still money to deserve a clean room.

Particularly I not recommend… Good things: The service was fast, the person who attended the reception was very polite. at check-in and check-out they were very kinda , thanks for this! The bed is comfortable, the location is very good. Negative points: The TV does not work, no channels are very old, there is no socket next to the bed, only a distant socket to use, but worst of all, the acoustics in the room, terrible. The phone wouldn't stop ringing, I woke up NUMEROUS times, 2…3am noise from other rooms all night… a noise with what sounded like the processor in the kitchen sink… or a blender… very loud, very bad acoustics the bathroom urgently needs a good cleaning, the toilet garbage was from the previous guest, and the shower was very dirty

Very unclean - avoid. I would question whether a cleaner actually came in and cleaned the room following the previous guests. As you can see from my pictures, the toilet was not clean at all and contained a surprise. The mattress had tagging on it and was generally in a state of uncleanliness. The walls had streaks of goodness knows what running down them. The bathroom floor hadn't been mopped and the hot water tap didnt shut off properly so that it continuously trickled hot water. I would've expected, at the very least, that the bathroom be in better shape than it was; when we booked through the third party site the hotel was shown as a 7.2 star accommodation. That certainly wasnt the experience given the cleanliness. I provided this information, photos and feedback to the hotel who didn't seem to take the feedback seriously. Would not recommend in the slightest

Very helpful staff! The moment we stepped in the place we were immediately approached and led to reception via stairway. The only flaw with this place is the occasional karaoke and partying but great for value nonetheless.Rooms: 4/5

The room shook every time a bus pulled in outside, i am aware this is a central location and its a historic building but thats is no excuse to not invest in sound proofing. Road noise is definitely normal in the CBD but this was just ridiculous. Room wasnt clean, uncomfortable sheets and pillows, shower isnt sealed properly so water was over flowing onto the bathroom floor. The bar/restaurant on the ground floor sounded like a nightclub playing music very loud until early hours of the morning. Reception is upstairs and there were no signs saying that, so it was hard to know where to check in when there were no staff around on the ground floor on arrival. Only positive i can think of is the location is great. Other than that, I wouldn’t recommend to anyone. Edit in reply to owners response: Thank you for the response. Music went later than 11pm - staff was of course around then. I am saying there was no staff around initially when we were wanting to check in. Seems as though you forgot to address the uncleanliness, uncomfortable linen and shower leaking onto the bathroom floor.

Firstly no lift 65 stairs to climb not good if older. Room very small. Shower/handbasin dirty with hair in shower. Shabby /shoddy paintwork some not finished . TV on wall beside bed not able to swivel

Great place to Stay in the City, Fun Pub downstairs and the food is Good Rooms: Just a place to lay your head really nothing flash here but the location and cheap room rates for where hotel is located. Nearby activities: Straight across the road for Sky city and the Hotel pub vibe is Fun with happy hour Walkability: Middle of the CBD on Hobson walk where evwr Great location Food & drinks: Drinks and Food are Great Beautiful Pizza and the Steak is Fantastic

We come here often when we stay in Auckland. Love the location the bar is great. Love the new renovations down stairs. Staff are always friendly. And to top it off my husband forgot his belt and the owner Patrick gave him his for the night. So appreciated by this. Rooms: 4/5

The staff are efficient and friendly and made me feel welcome. Had both breakfast and dinner here, and would recommend. Meals were well presented, with good portions and very tasty. Bed was comfortable and shower had plenty of water and pressure. Will be back for more on our next Auckland visit.Rooms: 3/5
