My stay was a work trip to attend a conference at the hotels function room. I would stay again for a work trip, for a personal trip and reccomend to others as a place to stay and host events and conferences. I found the customer service really accomodating ahead of my stay with some additional requests I had made and my check in with Chika was great, she was lovely at 3am! explained everything I needed to know for my stay and helped me sort through some matters with my booking in a really helpful way. In room dining is good and their smash burger might be the best room service burger I have had at any hotel in the world. The breakfast buffet I tried on my last day tried a bit of everything but the juicy pineapple and the bircher muesli were the favorites. I had a great sleep - the bed is really comfortable, I liked the shower, good water pressure but found moving the shower tap half a centimetere would result in a temp increase of 1000 degrees....gotta get outta the way of the water.
Do not recommend, I very rarely go out of my way to do a 1 star review I only use Google to give 5 stars where credit is due.nnUnfortunately this has been the worst experience at a hotel, staff were so blunt/rude even with the simplest questions such as which way are the bathrooms, from check in to leaving.nnOvercharged but once I called they did rectify it. I've never felt so ripped off staying at a hotel before and we do stay at hotels often.nnTake your money elsewhere its not a 5 star experience at all. Happy to remove the review if they take this feedback on board and actually want us to give their business another chance but for now all its done has left a sour taste in my mouth.
If you’re looking for a cozy hotel to stay at over the weekend don’t bother staying here, find another hotel.nnMe and my friends stayed here 2 weekends ago for a birthday and as soon as we walked into the hotel it was freezing cold like a bloody ice box. We saw there were knobs on the wall to change the temperature which we had done. However we went out for the night, came back and it was still absolutely freezing and we got into bed shaking and couldn’t fall asleep. The next morning we went to reception and told them our heating wasn’t working and they told us that since our rooms were newly renovated the knobs on the wall don’t actually work but they sent someone over to talk to us which he said all the rooms were controlled centrally so he’d put the temperature up in our room. Then a maintenance guy came to our room to “check” when I told him the other guy said the knobs don’t work, the maintenance guy came in, touched the knobs and then left without even doing anything. We then went out for the day and came back and it was still shockingly cold. I called the reception and they sent up a tiny heater that didn’t even heat up the room and once again we were trying to sleep while shaking uncontrollably.nnWe also had a problem with the shower head and every time we’d turn on the shower, the shower head would come flying out and almost knocking us clean out.nnAlso I had to pay $100 bond which I still haven’t received back into my account for whatever reason, which I’ve emailed twice and also called. They told me when I checked out it’d be released back into my account so I’m unsure why I still haven’t had it refunded.nnTruly disappointed by this experience.
Good spot close to the city, however, the room me and a few mates stayed in had a few problems.nnStarting off strong with the shower, Everytime we turned the shower on, the shower head would jump out at us as if it was a bloody jack in the box!nTo add onto that the room was an absolute freezer with the way we were huddled under our thin blanket, relying on each others body heat like we were the grandparents from Charlie and the chocolate factory. We tried to control the heat of our room by using the little box of useless knobs and to no avail, the room stayed the same, if anything it got colder. We told someone at the front desk about this and they sent up a fool who came into our room, looked at the control, tapped on it once and left without a word. Did absolutely nothing by the way.nnLastly, the most of my concerns are with the fact that they ask for a $100 bond and they’d refund it upon checkout. My friend has been on the staff for the past two weeks asking for it back but has had no luck even after contacting her bank. It looks to me that they’re just mucking her around to hold onto the money.nnThe halls leading to the rooms were a little unsettling, felt like I was in the backrooms lmao.nnWe had this one guy though, he was a good bloke and was clearly trying to help. Didn’t manage to catch the name so I can’t give direct credit.
Certainly not a 5 star hotel.nLuke warm water making showers unpleasant.nComplained and was told it would be sorted… next day just the same.nThey said nobody else had complained, but dozens of reviews had the same complaint.nThey are clearly in breach of the building code, which has standards for hot water minimum temperatures.nPoorly maintained room and very dated.nReception and bar area was nice and a very good breakfast selection though.nBar staff could be trained better.nWouldn’t be a place I would consider staying at again.
