The staff were friendly and helpful. But many of us customers didn’t understand why the services were very slow with at least more than 5 people and 5 computer systems at the counter. Yup! We chatted. The line always long, and some parents had to leave after half and hour or more time, the line was not moving. I have been there couple of times. It always takes me at least 40mins to be out of line ordering books or for click and collect, not including the waiting for books delivered on hand.
Pretty chaotic and mismanaged. Collection of books gets very painful. Spent over an hour and half to reach the counter and no proper information or instructions outside where people have been queuing up. Could have handled better. They should compensate for the lost work due to excessive wait.nnAdditional after the feedback from the ownernnThe business knows that there is rush during back to school and still choose to do nothing forcing the parents to choose postal service which going through the reviews of parents who selected postal service had very bad experience. They do not hesitate to mention that they are proudly Australia family owned business and do not do anything to provide better service which they charge for. School should offer more options for the book shops to buy from. These books are already very expensive and these shops thinks customers as cash cows as parents don’t have options to go somewhere else.
Last year. I ordered for my son and daughter, The web site order is good for books. However, prices are high with limited competition from other web sites. The stationary order is forcing us to buy everything as one package and it is still expensive comparing to the market. This is not good as we had many items from previous year. This is not environmentally friendly organisation. It increase waste. Last year we did not receive some books until mid March. I am not sure what printing services took three months to deliver. Useless.nThis year. we decided to go and collect , maybe it would be better experience. No it is worse. Most of the books, are not available and the delivery provided afterwards by email is a joke. They want us to come collect book by book on different days until end of February. I think it is just a way to say pay for delivery. Even delivery, they delayed them to the maximum like last year experience. Looking at the other reviews, this is a business with no vision to improve at all. The same problems every year and no improvement. Comparing to a third world books services, public sector agencies there are providing, the books before first day of schools. If this company cant do this every year, then the schools and education department should provide parents and student with other options. My recommendations, search for stationary in different places, they are more cheaper and you can buy only what you need. For campion, forget about stationary, you are not providing better prices, Focus on improving the end user experience on delivering the books before schools start.
There is no actual format for this place.nExtremely long queue's, understandable for back to school. But even after 2 weeks lines were Extremely long, waiting times were ridiculous, no parking available on streets and best of all... no toilet access.nnPeople travel from far, wait for ever in the lines and there's no access. Huge signs. It would have been better having a set up outside with 2 lines stating new orders or pick up/exchange.nnIf people have had to come in store and there's no stock, with a couple of week waot times - the least they can do is post them out.
I'm mad enough to get on here and write a negative review which I don't think I've ever done before. It makes me really angry that under the neo-liberal capitalist system where supposedly a free market creates competition and the best outcomes for 'consumers' AKA people, monopolies like this are allowed, where I have no choice but to use Campion Books who deliver the most outrageously, scandalously bad customer service I've experienced in a long time.nnToo long and involved to type out the whole story. Can't even begin to describe how bad my experience was. How many hours wasted 7, how many phone calls 6, how many different, contradictory stories I was told as to why my delivery couldn't be confirmed. What a nailbitiing ride we had waiting to see if books would turn up in time for school they didn't or ever they now have - yay!nnWas told Thomastown 'doesnt have a direct phone line' so nobody could physically check on my order.nnWas told order was being picked and packed one day, and that it hadn't been registered the next.nnI'm still getting weekly notifications to pick up my order... apparently 'this unfortunately is an automated system so we can't stop it'.nnBasically it was clear the people working in the contact centre had no ability to see what was happening, or to actually get anything to happen. Classic bloated entitled fatcat bureacracy where the left hand doesn't know what the right hand is doing.nnAbsolutely terrible.
