1 was there in 1942 for close on 5years,my name is Patrica Hunt, I remember my sister was also there as care person her name was Gladys Hunt,
My sister was in their care 40yrs ago - she was four then. She was diagnosed with an unknown infection that took over her whole body. After slipping in and out of coma as doctors were trying to find a drug to fight her infection. Long story short she had to learn to walk and talk again as the drugs the hospital pumped into her to beat the virus took away her main functions. She spent alot of months in Wilson Centre learnng to be a four year again. She was told it would take up to 10 years for all the drugs to be out of her body. We now live in Melbourne and i will take my sister to Wilson home 40yrs after the event to surprise her. She is now living a healthy life, never smoked or drank a drop of alcohol in her life.We will visit June 2019 during queens birthday and my sisters 45th birthday.
