I came in looking for a helmet. I was after a Shoei never had one before and Russell talked me through all the options after checking my dimensions. He also showed me through other options and provided really great advice.nI then went on to purchase boots and a full riding suit.nnThe help has been absolutely fantastic and I am very appreciative for the service.nIt was friendly, not pushy and I was provided with options. Only giving 5 stars because 6 isn't an option.nnI will be back

Parts team and sales team are great. Knowledgeable, friendly, and helpful. Partner and friends have bought bikes from here with good experiences. Caprice? especially lent a lot of her time and effort to help out with parts and is very patient. But unfortunately service department and more specifically service manager Zac is abysmal. Have had many bad experiences using the service department. Haven't been to Cyclespot in a while and certainly won't be back as long as he is working there. Just had a post pop up on my feed with several other people having bad experiences with the service department specifically which reminded me to leave a review. Original poster didn't name Cyclespot but all the commentors immediately knew which shop it was just based off the experience OP had. Buy your bikes and parts here if you want but service them elsewhere :

To be honest, not the best experience with Cycle Spot New Plymouth.nnI’ve emailed about parts before and never heard back, and I’ve rung up with the same result, so communication already wasn’t great. Thought I’d give them another go though.nnMy wife and I rode into the branch on Monday intending to buy some riding jeans. We parked up, walked in, and no one really acknowledged we were there. We stood by the jeans for around 10 minutes trying to work out which were men’s and women’s because nothing seemed clearly labelled and everything was mixed together.nnNo one came over to help or even checked if we needed anything. One staff member was chatting away to his mate while the guy at the service desk was yelling back and forth to someone in the office. Overall, it just felt like no one cared that customers were in the store.nnWe ended up walking out and going to another shop around the corner, where the customer service was night and day. We bought a full set of riding gear there instead.nnI get these guys are still starting out, and I’m not trying to be harsh, but based on the two experiences I’ve had, the customer service has been really poor.

I just wanted to share how awesome my experience with Russell at Cyclesport was! He was super helpful in picking out the perfect biker jacket, pants, for me and shoes for my wife. I’ve been there a couple of times for same thing but couldn’t make a decision, and every single time, Russell was patient and enthusiastic, showing us the best options. He even helped me find the perfect fit for my own jacket. His knowledge and friendly attitude made the whole experience a breeze. Thanks a ton, Russell, for making it so easy and enjoyable!
