The lady at the Clay Centre patiently listened to me as I explained that I needed clay pots for growing plants for our Solar New Year Table. She searched the workshop until she found what I was looking for and kindly gave them to me. These photos show the result. Grateful for her kindness. Happy New Year!
Hubby and I went to Wheel & Wine for date night! Had so much fun. Iza was a great teacher, and Jasmine helped make our pieces look great!! Will be back again for sure!!
Pretty expensive classes per session compared to other places I’ve been to which range from like $30 per class. Did the 5 weeks beginner level 1 and you get 4 pieces included into the fee $245pp+$25 fee. 2 nights of making, 2 nights of trimming maybe making if you have time, 1 night of glazing.nnBut really nice spot and teachers! Enjoyed Strahan and Cats attempts to ease us beginners into playing with it and not be perfectionists. Very lovely calming time with them, felt I could get help despite the class of ~16 peoplennDecent parking in the evening.nnLoving 3 out of 4 of my final pieces!nnWould go back
A bit of a mission to get tickets as they are high demand! However had so much fun in the Wheel & Wine class as first time potters.nnRecommendations:nn- Bring a friend!n- Don’t hold back on bringing a nice cheese platter and make sure to start eating and drinking as soon as you’re seated.n- Bring an apron and extra towels.n- If it is a full class, the tutors will be busy trying to look out for everyone so a reminder! put your hand up without hesitation even if you feel shy.n- You get two clumps of clay. One is free comes with the ticket and other you can buy. If you like the results of both, buy the other which costs another $15.n- Perfect for an occasion and to do in remembrance of a celebration i.e birthday, anniversary, etcnnAll tutors were so lovely and their guidance was very much needed for anxious first-timers as myself and my partner.nnPicked up our cup/bowl 2~3 weeks after we made it. Loved the result and would keen to try the Coffee & Clay class in the near future.
If you’ve never done wheel throwing before, this is the place I’d recommend you to go.nThe instructor was so patient, lovely and humorous. As someone who’s never done wheel throwing before, I am very happy with what I managed to get out with just a 2 hour session.
