Awanui Labs - Mount Wellington (formerly Labtests)

Friendly staff, easy blood draw, and caters well for larger people with a wide seat in the waiting room and test room. I just wish they had their own phone number so people can check before they go whether or not the test script is there or not.

Yesterday morning I went to this lab for blood test for the first time. The overall environment was clean and everything went pretty smoothly. The nurse was nice, but he didn’t seem very skilled. He tried my right arm first but couldn’t get any blood, so he had to switch to my left arm. Both times I felt a pretty strong tingling sensation. Now both of my arms are still sore and a bit red and swollen:-

The testing lab is fully equipped biggest of all Labtest I have visited so far in Auckland. The facilities are good and most of the blood, X-ray and other tests are done here. Somw of the tests are free for New Zealand citizen and permanent residency which are sponcered by state.

I understand there are rules to follow, but being shouted at for entering the wrong door on my first visit was not a good experience. Hopefully customer service can be improved.”

RUDE STAFFnnI went for a blood test this morning and everything was fine until I entered the room. I politely asked the staff member her name sounded like Mala/Mela/Male, “Could you please use the smaller needle?”—something I always request.nnHer response was, “Don’t tell me how to do my job, I know what I’m doing.”nnI don’t understand how a simple, polite request for a smaller needle is considered telling her how to do her job. A simple “yes” or “ok” would have been enough.nnAs patients, we are already anxious about medical tests. Having to deal with unnecessarily rude behaviour only makes the experience more stressful and unpleasant.
