AA Centre - Penrose

I honestly struggled with how many stars to give this place because my experience was a mix of kindness and disappointment, so please read carefully.nnWhen I arrived yesterday morning to do my theory test, I was very nervous and realized I had forgotten my passport. A very kind Southeast Asian staff member kindly listened to my situation and allowed me to go home to get my passport and come back later since I lived only 15-20 minutes away. Without his understanding, I would have lost my chance to take the test that day — I’m truly grateful for his help.nnHowever, when I returned, I was met with very disrespectful behavior from one staff member, an Indian gentleman. While queuing, he literally called me up using only his eyes, like I was a dog — I’m not exaggerating. I tried to brush it off, understanding that maybe he was having a bad day.nnBut after finishing my test, he struggled to find my name in the system and made me spell it at least 10 times. When I tried to check the screen to help, he wouldn’t allow me, citing security. Then, without properly trying again, he flatly said “nope, can’t find your name.” I had to ask him to search again which is his job.nnDuring this time, he also asked racially insensitive questions like “Why does Vietnam put names this way? Why would your last name be first in your passport?” I want to be clear — this review is not against any race, and I don’t know their names, but I’m simply sharing what happened. I was just there to get my license and had been polite the entire time. This experience was very disappointing and hurtful.nnThat said, everyone else at the AA Penrose center was lovely and professional. Unfortunately, this one staff member’s attitude left a sour taste on my visit.

Staff need to be retrained to avoid spreading miss information.n-Renewing expired truck licence.nnI was assured I didn’t need retesting that I just needed a doctors medical. Half a day and $100+ later I turn up with my 100% pass medical only to be told now I have to spend more time and money going through retraining and retesting.nnHad I been told the truth I wouldn’t have bothered wasting my time or money.nnIt is not the staff’s fault entirely as both the first time making the enquiry and the second time when I returned with the medical the staff did not know how to handle the renewal and had to contact a call center. Obviously the call center also need retraining as you get different answers depending which call center operator you speak to.nnTherefore I can only conclude AA Senior Management need retaining as it appears they don’t know how run an operation like this. Their staff will only be a competent as the senior management ensure.nnIncompetency runs down hill

My experience with Krunal at AA Penrose was exceptional. From the moment I approached him, he was welcoming and took the time to understand exactly what I was looking for. Krunal's product knowledge was excellent, and he patiently answered all of my questions. He went above and beyond to ensure I found the right solution and was completely satisfied. His friendly demeanor and professional approach made the entire interaction a positive one. Thank you, Krunal, for your outstanding customer service!

Title: Disappointing Experience with Annabel's Unprofessional Behaviour.nnI had a very unpleasant experience at AA Penrose due to the rude and unprofessional behaviour of Annabel. When I approached the counter, instead of a polite greeting, she very loudly and rudely instructed me to go back and sit in a chair, despite the center being quite empty at the time. This was not only unnecessary but completely disrespectful.nnThankfully, another representative named Jelly stepped in and immediately helped me. Jelly was nothing short of professional—polite, helpful, and efficient. She made up for the negative experience I had with Annabel and ensured I was taken care of.nnI strongly feel that Annabel should be reprimanded for her behaviour. It’s clear from reading other reviews that this is not the first time she has caused similar issues, which makes me concerned for the experiences of elderly visitors or those with language barriers, who might struggle to assert themselves in such situations.nnThis kind of unprofessional conduct is unacceptable and I hope the centre manager takes appropriate action to address this behaviour and ensure better service for everyone in the future. I hope you take this seriously as this is not the first complaint against Annabel. However thanks to representatives like Jelly, AA Penrose is managing to function currently. Looking forward to hearing a well meaning and actionable response.

Arrived around 12pm on a Thursday. Came for a license renewal and only took 10-15min. Team were very quick to help me and got through the process efficiently. Seems like they’ve made some improvements based on previous reviews. There’s chairs for if there is a line, in this case there was no line. There’s a mix of staff and customer parking at the back. Overall a good experience
