interesting place even just for wandering around
Visiting Stardome Observatory & Planetarium was a highlight of our trip to Auckland. The planetarium shows were fascinating and well presented, offering a great mix of entertainment and education. The visuals were stunning, and the narrator kept everyone engaged, from kids to adults. We also enjoyed the interactive displays in the foyer and learned a lot about the stars and space.nnThe observatory session was amazing — we got to see celestial objects through the telescope, which was a unique experience. The staff were friendly, knowledgeable, and patient in answering all our questions.nnIt’s a perfect place for families, couples, or anyone with an interest in astronomy. Highly recommend for an educational and fun day out!
We visited with my daughter's school for a night show. The 3D movie was a fascinating way to learn about our solar system. My 4 year old son was glowing in excitement afterwards. Good displays inside the auditorium of rockets, spaceships, information about stars and the solar system. Got to see the moon through the telescopes
Visiting Auckland from Sydney and thought I’d check this place out. I had looked at the website and was under the impression that there would be daily “day shows”, or at least a short educational film about space. When I arrived however the person at the front desk informed me that only the gallery area was open during the day, and the shows are only in the evening. Seeing my disappointment, they added in a very condescending tone that maybe I should “google places before just turning up”. I was stunned at the rudeness. Instead of trying to inform me of what I could experience, they dismissed me entirely. Suffice to say I left immediately. This staff member was the rudest person I’ve encountered for a long time.
