Litter everywhere down the driveway to Marua Rd. I mentioned it to three people in person and twice by email over a period of six months, but nothing's changed.nnIn-store everything's great.
I’ve been a loyal customer at this store since it opened. As a local trade business, we regularly shop here and at Bunnings Mt Wellington, depending on what we need. Being nearby, this store has always been convenient for us.nnHowever, I need to raise a concern that has been bothering me and my staff for quite some time. There is a tall, slim Indian man with glasses, I’m not sure if he is a manager, staff member, or security, who constantly makes us feel uncomfortable. Every time we visit, he closely watches us, looks at our hands, and asks things like, “Are you going to buy that?” It feels as though we’re being treated with suspicion for no reason.nnOn a recent visit with my wife and 13-year-old daughter, he kept staring at my daughter in a way that was very unsettling. Whether he thought she was doing something wrong or not, his behaviour was inappropriate and unprofessional.nnWe understand staff need to be aware of store activity, but following customers around and making them feel watched is not the way to do it. If a customer needs help, they will ask.nnFor contrast, there is another Indian gentleman — medium build, who I believe is the actual manager. He always greets us politely and focuses on his work without making anyone feel uncomfortable.nnI hope this feedback is taken seriously. No customer should feel unwelcome or uncomfortable while shopping. I’d appreciate it if someone could address this with the staff member in question.
Feedback May 2025nWe had an issue in store with the promotion that we didn't push because it was crowded, so we just paid and went home. After confirming on their website that we were correct, I sent a complaint. I was very surprised to get a call from the store manager a couple of hours later on a Sunday. Everything got worked out. Good follow-up and I'm happy.nnOriginal reviewnnOverall it's the home / hardware store I go to most often.nnBut do not buy test pots you want tinted from here unless you need a large 250ml at $14 each to test colours. The pretinted ones in the big display are 60ml and $5 and the signage to say that they tint 250ml pots is very poor. It's high up near the top shelf well above my head, in small print, and doesn't give a price. I thought I was getting the 60ml test pots and didn't realize they were 250ml until the first half of them were brought back to me. I've only ever seen 60ml test pots. Save yourself a bunch of money and go to the Resene Colour shop around the corner and pay $5.50 per 60ml pot.
I was at the store yesterday around 6pm. I had my dog with me and my daughter. I bought my dog a toy and my daughter was holding onto it same time playing keeping our dog company whole I was looking at something. A tall skinny old indian man with glasses keeps looking at us watching our every move as if we are stealing. Then he later comes and says to my child ‘are you going to buy that’ in a rude tone.nnWho the hell does he think he is to approach me and MY CHILD like that. Do you think we just let our dog play with it and not pay???!!!nnWe left and paid for our items.nnThis man is ALWAYS like this. Next time he does something like this I will not back down and will make a scene if he does not get his head straight.
Fabulous Mitre 10. The staff there are always superb helpful and knowledgeable. Also there's no self checkouts. 100 x better than the Bunnings down the road.
