A couple of items to share. I had a particularly great counter experience with Karonzo when I was picking up my vehicle. He was personable, kind, and even took me outside to show me the different models available within my particular booking. Additionally, if even help me figure out how to fold the seats down completely in the vehicle I rented. Class-act, thank you!nnThe newer car models now have petrol trackers that verify the car is returned with the same amount of fuel. I was charged without notice and could have returned to the station to do so. Adelynn reached out to me in response to a CX survey, assisted me with this item, and resolved the concern to my satisfaction. I will definitely be renting from Budget in the future because of these interactions—this was a perfect close-the-loop interaction. Well done.nnRented Car: Hyundai Santa Fe see pic

Fairly easy and quick check in. The vehicle I wanted was available. The vehicle could have been cleaner. I could still smell the body odor from the previous renter. If you rent a large passenger van like I did, be prepared to test your driving skills. The parking lot lanes are 2 way, but only wide enough for 1 car at a time. Drop off was just as easy. Don’t forget to take note of the parking space number. They will ask for it.

Very dodgy experience returning the vehicle. Nobody in the car park to accept the return, and then a surprise letter 3 weeks later alleging windscreen damage. Fortunately I took photos at the drop off. I believe this is a common scam in NZ.

Misleading cancellation policy that feels like a scam.nnBudget Auckland Airport advertises “free cancellation” with charges only if cancelled within 24 hours, but this is misleading and simply not true for online bookings. That critical exclusion is not made clear up front and feels deliberately designed to catch customers out.nnI cancelled well over 24 hours in advance and was still charged NZD 86, money taken for a booking that was never used. The so-called free cancellation only applies if you pay at the counter, not online, which directly contradicts how the offer is presented.nnOn top of that, customer service was zero help in resolving the issue after booking, leaving me frustrated and out of pocket.nnThis is a classic bait-and-switch - attractive wording up front, hidden conditions, and no support when things go wrong. Extremely poor transparency and unethical practices.nnI will never use Budget again. Snap Auckland Airport, by contrast, is honest, straightforward, and also has clean, new cars. Highly recommended if you want a stress-free rental experience.

Great experience. Second times renting car here. I used only my New Zealand driver license ,answer a few questions not even 5 min I spent on the process. Easy both pick up and drop off
