The Savoy is truly a great hotel, excellent location, but with room for improvement in cleanliness. I would stay there again if I return to Melbourne.nnI really liked the hotel. The location is excellent, and that alone is already a big advantage. Southern Cross Station is right next door, which makes it very easy to move around the city, but you can also walk to almost anywhere in the city center without any problem. The hotel staff is very friendly and helped me solve several things during my stay.nnWhat I didn’t like was that the cleanliness could have been better, although overall it was still acceptable. My wife took a shower and when we returned to the room after cleaning, there were hairs on the floor, and the toilet seat had not been lifted during cleaning, so it was left quite dirty. The room is very nice, but it looks bigger in the photos than it actually is; in reality, it is quite small.
This was my first experience at The Savoy Hotel on Little Collins Street. It was amazing!nnI was in room 1006.nnThe check in, the stay, the check out - everything was excellent.nThe location is superb - right opposite Southern Cross station, yet there was no disturbance at all.nnThe hotel has a ‘character’ - all the way from the reception to the rooms.nnI will happily return here another time.
We were pleasantly surprised with the quality of the executive King room. Spacious, clean, comfortable bed & actually very quiet. We had dinner at the restaurant which was excellent. Based on that we decided to partake in the Buffet Breakfast. Big mistake & thus the reduction of 2 stars. It was an utter disgrace, the worst we have ever experienced. The staff would periodically check the hot offerings, but it was never replaced because no one was eating the garbage. Lifting the lid on the scrambled egg would have you dry retching. It was disgusting & inedible. The bacon had been sitting there for hours & the sausages were lukewarm at best. Seriously, youd be better walking down to maccas for a mcmuffin for 10% of the price. By all means consider staying but give breakfast a miss
Beautiful hotel next to SouthCross Station. Nice sized and well appointed room with comfortable bed. Beautiful bathroom with fantastic shower.nRoom has a coffee machine which is a big plus, but no bathrobes or slippers.nNo queue to check in and the staff were very helpful.nOnly negative is the furniture is a bit shabby, with the wardrobe having to be taped up.
My daughter and I had a lovely stay at the Savoy Hotel. We arrived very early and the staff were so accommodating in holding our bags - so we could begin shopping and return when our room was ready.nThe staff were so kind and thoughtful and even sent a little birthday cake and note up to our room for my daughter - she was so thrilled! Our room was spacious and comfortable and we both had a great sleep.nClose proximity to all the shops, our dinner reservation at Crown and the station for our train home. We could walk everywhere we needed to go. Perfect
