Even one star is pushing it. There needs to be an option for zero stars for an incompetent business such as this. 
After booking online, receiving confirmation emails and texts, we arrived on the morning of our house move with no van to be seen. We were told we should have called to confirm (not even a direct number online!!) with the blame thrown back at us, the PAYING customer. Worst customer service I have ever experienced - no apology, only attitude. Thank goodness Avis and Budget are next door... saving people from the disaster that is Thrifty Wollongong. 👌🏼

The utility van itself was fine, I booked it a few days previous and it was ready waiting for me when I wanted it. I paid a $200 bond at the time, filled the car with petrol at the end, although the petrol gauge was reading incorrectly and only showed three quarters full. I advised the girl in the office about this and she said they would fill the car up and if it took more than $2 worth of petrol they would bill our credit card. After a week when I had not received my bond refund I rang and asked why and was told it was a “provisional return” and they were still waiting for the mechanic to check the petrol gauge. This was one week later. So they still have our bond and the receptionist in Wollongong said they would agree to refund the bond but it would still take three to five working days. Given that we are now heading into Christmas holidays it will most likely be 2 weeks after we hired the utility. Poor, poor service, I would not recommend this company to anyone.

Overcharged hire car for 2 days turned early and then was charged late payment but not when i returned car was told everting was perfect i returned the car at 11.45 am instead of 5.30 pm its late and they cant return emails phone calls or any other form of request for a refund of overcharing then sent out a survey which i was going to happily give negative comments but you dont even get to put in comments one question were you have with service NO.

Very smooth online booking. Staff were friendly and helpful and the car was upgraded to a slightly larger model for the same price.  We had kids and lot of luggage and even though it was closing time on a Sunday we were offered a lift to the train station. I can't fault the service.
