When we picked up the car it only had a 3/4 full tank of petrol, later into our road trip we realized the air conditioning was broken. We were able to exchange the vehicle at a different budget location and at the end of the trip I got credited for the difference in gas since I dropped it off full. Overall the staff did a great job at quickly fixing the issues and getting me back on the road. The staff at the drop-off location were friendly and made sure I got the gas credit without any hassle.
We made a reservation to pickup a car at 2:00 but upon arrival staff had just locked up. We could not get our car. Why would you allow us to make a reservation for 2:00 if you close at 2:00??? All other car rental places had sold out so our weekend plans have been ruined. Makes no sense to allow customers to make a reservation at the time you close. Would have nice to have been contacted about this before hand but perhaps they were not paying attention to their emails so did not see our reservation. Have one week in Sydney, this was my only chance to explore further out. Thanks a lot budget
Stay away from this rental office. Now after reading previous feedback I have to agree to most of it. Extremely rude garage workers!!! I filled up the tank but the gauge did not show a full tank. Happened to previous people too. I mentioned this at return but they wanted to charge extra straight away. I told them that the fuel was already coming out of the tank at petrol station. They said they don’t care as they only look at the gauge. After arguing one of them started the engine and said they wait sometimes and then the tank shows as full. I also complained at the office but the duty manager did not even care. So as suggested by others rent a car somewhere else if you want an experience without a bad after taste.
An amazing experience with them, real cheaters. No better words then MAFFIA. We are on the way to the police to ask for investigation. As previously mentioned , they overcharged us, we paid at the end 3 times the booked rental fee. They obviously manipulating the fuel status we drove altogether 64 km and i have the receipt of paying refilling petrol 15 minutes before the car was returned and they charged us 95 Dollar for refilling the car. Even we have returned the car exactly as we supposed to do , they charged us for late return, as they told us that the returning time is not when we picked up the car at the location 3.03 pm written on the Vehicle Condition Report - returned back exactly at 3.00 pm , but when we signed the contract in the office 2.05 pm............ Is probably our fault , that the lady was unable to explain properly where we should pick up the car as the garage is not together with office, but app 5-10 minutes walking distance , so we made a couple of rounds before arriving to the garage. No invoice , no explanation, very bad customer service . We will see if the police will do something or not, its not about the money - its about the principal. In Europe, they would be closed down immediately if something like this would happen.
Super bad services from the garage guy, with so many bad reviews wonder why is he still around? We left our keys behind, they weren’t willing to return it at all! Worst experience of renting a car in australia. Pls do not engage budget Sydney if you want a good holiday. There are much better choices down the road: bay water, hertz, axis etc!
When I returned the car I forgot my portable audio speaker in the car 130 Dollar. I told them exactly where I put it but I didn’t got any help. The cars are not the cleanest anyway so probably they really didn’t found it while doing what they call „cleaning“. Remember you won’t get any help at all !!!
Had to pay more than expected. There were a lot of hidden fees to pay. The receptionist was rude. They love to charge you some unreasonable fees like location fee charges etc. The operators on the phone were not familiar with their companies policies. I would suggest to stay away from budget. Unhappy rental experience.
Bianca at the front desk helped me out of a tight spot when she didn’t need to, gave me a good rate, and was overall very lovely. The garage guys seemed like good chaps to me, just a comment as I see they’ve copped some poor reviews.
Was overcharged for fuel, although the tank was full. They don't provide any docs upon return, so please make sure to take photos and keep the receipt from petrol station. I called them back and they confirmed that I was mistakenly charged for fuel - now it's been 4 months - still no refund. Called them back today - rude agent asked to contact Customer Support shouting: "I did not promise you anything!". Very upset with the service.
We hired a car from Saturday morning to Monday morning, which was estimated to cost $177.84. To our disbelief and disappointment the end bill came to $308.90. The car was returned with 3/4 of petrol which cost $69 to fill the tank back up. There was a $35 charge for dropping the car back 1 hour late, we informed Budget we were running slightly late where they didn't mention any charge for this, where we would have hired the car for another day had they explained + had time to fill up again. When speaking to budget to get a break down of the costs they couldn't. On second attempt it was almost the same, I have no full break down of the costs and if you have done the math too, there are costs which are unaccounted for. This would not be legal back in the UK and is something I will try to look into further. This is my first review and hopefully my last. I feel this branch and pricing model is deceiving and personally do not like being in the dark about what a final bill is going to be, especially when the final bill is almost double the estimate.
