I went to collect the car that I had precooked for collection. I was ushered by a staff from one area to another, then eventually to another desk to whom a another staff over the counter asked me rudely, “where’s your contract? I can’t get your car if I don’t have your paper work.” I told her that the other staff who told me to come see her had the paperwork and place it on her counter. She then rudely ask a series of questions before handing me a key paperwork which was mixed with another customer. Not apologetic at all. When I finally got the car, 40 minutes later, (looking back at 2 other customers I first waited with, whom were still waiting) the car was a lower class to what I booked and it had not been cleaned. Looking over at the Avis staff, I was demanded just to take it. This is the most terrible service I have ever experienced from a car rental company. What an embarrassing standard level of service to display for such a globally known company. This will be the first and last time I will ever use this company again.

I had a great experience with the desk staff. She was helpful and engaging. In addition before I got the car, I asked for help to change the time of car pickup. The support was great - positive, helpful and even got me a better deal. Dare I say, even drop off were helpful as I was heading back through the international terminal. I will be a repeat customer!

I'm always intrigued by what other users put on their reviews. Read the fine print. I'm a preferred customer with all the prefilled information and I know what to expect when I pay. The preferred process emails receipt through, bypass the queues just an overall experience within itself. It's not the cleanest place, not an Avis issue, just an old car park. Never book through a travel agent, try Oodles or similar if you're new to renting a car. I'm lucky, I'm experienced.

I love how easy the process of picking up and dropping off a rental car is. The staff are always happy to help. I love the Avis preferred system. I get a text before I've landed of which bay my car is in, I jump in and I'm ready to go. The emailed invoice is great too. I do note a lot of whinging in the reviews from people who clearly don't understand the basics of car rental. Yes you pay high excess if you don't choose to pay insurance on this up front. Hire cars get crashed often for obvious reasons therefore excess is going to be higher. If you don't want to take the risk then pay the insurance. Of course you are going to get charged tolls if you drive in toll roads. If are silly enough to leave your belongings in the car why would you expect someone else to take better care of them than you did? Seriously people take a good hard look at yourselves and grow up and take responsibility for your own actions.

Return service was fine but airport car rental location was not well marked when approaching the airport from M5.
