We had a economy Camper for 3 weeks. At the company nothing was explained to us. Only this book was given to us. We also had 3 break downs because of the battery went low. We called them and they told us that the Fridge will sucks a lot of Energy when not driving and we should not plug it in until the engine is running. 
That’s ok, but we had it running for 15 min with engine turned off and the battery is totally empty?? I tried to explain him that the battery is over 10 years old and that you can easily calculate it how long it should last because the fridge was 50W power and the Battery has 60 Ah Capacity. But he didn’t care, if we would get it changed we have to pay for it because the fault is ours.
In addition to mention is the disgusting interior. Hundreds of mosquitoes at the inner roof that were killed from people before. The beds are hard as stone, totally uncomfortable.
The space under the beds are too small so you can hardly put something underneath it.

12V output in front didn’t work properly.

Kitchen Equipment is bad quality. Some of that was broken.

We are not recommending this company. Not worth the money. Don’t even think about it! Invest a little bit more and enjoy the holiday even more!

We rented an economy campervan for three weeks.  The setup is very comfortable and the mattress is the best we had in 3 weeks, when we had also slept in hostels and B&B.  We called the company at least three times and was able to talk to Grant right away.  We had a puncture in the tire on Sunday, and it costed $60 extra to have someone coming to a closed tire shop on Sunday.  And Grant was OK with covering the extra cost.  We spoke to many other travelers who rented campervans from other companies, and most of them are very unhappy with the services.  We were more than pleasantly surprised with our experience with Rental car village.

What a great company. We've heard about them from a traveling blog. We rented a micro camper but as we travel with 3 young kids, we didn't take the mattress. We picked up only what we needed so we had a very comfortable stationwagon for a fraction of the price of any rental car. It was even cheaper to have the car and renting houses from bookabach than renting a regular campervan for the five of us.
The terms were clear and very honest. Also we had a great personalized service and got answers quickly to all our questions.

Very low budget set-up uncomfortable and really disappointing was a real downer to our holiday wouldnt recommend them to anyone. Plus we decided not to drop off at the south island due to earthquakes and they would not refund the 300 fee even tho the van wasnt booked there and we returned to the original location.. thumbs down👎👎👎

I can't recommend this company.  We paid for the minimum 14 night rental although we were not able to use our rental on the last night as the company had rented it out to someone else.  We were not refunded the amount for the last night (that we weren't able to use our camper).  The company adds a 2.5% surcharge to credit cards (the only place we encountered on our 2 week stay with such a charge) and required the payment in full when the vehicle was taken out (i.e. we weren't able to put a hold on the card and pay later with cash to avoid the surcharge).  The company doesn't do pick-ups at the airport like most of the other camper van companies and a taxi from the airport is $20 each way.  The company requires that you wash the car before returning it!  The camper was basic (as advertised) but the radio didn't work well and the window netting didn't quite fit either.  We also had to take the car out when the tank was nearly empty. Every "extra" incurs and additional fee (i.e. bedding and we had to pay $60 for a map book just to rent it.)  The owner was very rude and made it clear that he was so busy during the Christmas holiday that he could care less whether we were satisfied or not.   I'd recommend booking elsewhere.
