We stayed here 25 years ago when it was cutting edge in style. The hotel is now dated but still interesting and welcoming. Most of the reception staff are professional and friendly. We did extend our stay from two nights to four nights in two different rooms which were very comfortable and offered excellent amenities. On the 4th day our room was not serviced and when pointed out to the female receptionist in the evening she was uncharming and unapologetic but a male colleague with a smile and professionalism delivered the requested towels and tea and coffee to the room. We used the jacuzzi and really lovely pool over three days. Unfortunately and uncomfortably the disabled bathroom and shower for the pool area was not cleaned over the three days. The bin was not emptied, there was a large clump of hair in the drain and the toilet seat was dirty underneath. Additionally because the room is designed as a disabled toilet/shower the hooks were so near the floor that towels and bags got soaked and this was not helped by having no shelf. The restaurant and bar, although nicely designed with lots of different seating areas, have no atmosphere. The bar would not serve us happy hour drinks because of the method of our booking - booking.com. This was rather embarrassing as we had a local resident guest with us. However, a very welcome generous gesture is that the bar provides a large bottle of complimentary sparking water to enjoy at the bar or to take to the room. The signage through the hotel is clever and brings a smile to your face.
Was here 3 nights for a wedding. Had a loft suite. It was nice but getting very close to being in need of a renovation. Staff were helpful and friendly. If you love exploring the city on foot this is a great location but if your not a walker it will be taxi's everywhere.
This hotel is NOT a 5 star luxury hotel!!!!nThe furniture in their nicest room, the ultraroo and in the loft suites, are so stained and worn that I would not sit on them. The room was also dirty when we arrived… used silverware on the counter which was sticky. Desk was also sticky from not being cleaned. Floor had hair and dust bunnies all over the first floor of the loft. Carpets are very stained too … dare not to walk around without shoes.nOn a positive note, bed was comfortable, staff was very helpful and friendly, great location for the art museum and botanical gardens. Breakfast was good but does not change so just be mindful if you have a long stay.nThis is very high priced for the very worn and dirty accommodations.
Extremely Disappointing – The Worst Hilton Experience EvernnAs a long-time Hilton Diamond member, this was by far my most disappointing stay with the Hilton group. From the moment I checked in, there was absolutely no recognition of my Diamond status — no room upgrade, no welcome drink, and not even a basic welcome card.nnHousekeeping was inconsistent and well below Hilton standards. Each day the room was cleaned differently, and honestly, not thoroughly — I’d rate cleanliness at best a 3 out of 10.nnThe most unacceptable part of the stay was the noise. There was a wedding event happening on the floor below my room, and the noise was unbearable. It was louder than being out on the street. I couldn’t rest or work in peace.nnOverall, this hotel does not live up to the Hilton brand or its promises to loyal members. I would strongly advise against staying here.
Good location.nStaff were kind and friendly.nnBreakfast was limited but fresh and sufficed.nnUnfortunately the room was extremely dusty and left us with unpleasant sleep every night, despite attempt of asking staff to help wipe down vents which was lined in visible dust and could be seen on the tables.nnFor a 5 star hotel and the cost per night, unfortunately it's not worth the stay/ discomfort.
