Amora Hotel

Amazing king size bed in a nice quiet and comfortable room in a great area. Unfortunately, the prices for some room service items are pretty steep - almost $40 for a green chicken curry is too much no matter how much you earn. They seem to have normalised the price structure, which really doesn't work. However, the food we did order (burgers) was delicious and not priced too highly, considering. Bathroom was also very nice and all staff were lovely. Overall would very much recommend for a pampered stay when you're feeling flush.

It was easy to get to location wise. Close to public tranaport. The rooms were beautiful. The staff couldn't do enough for you. The food was nice, a little expensive, but nice. Overall a lovely experience. Very relaxing.

Don't stay here - the customer service is abysmal. When I made the reservation 6 months ago (for 4 people), I was told that our room would have 2 queen-size beds. But they aren't queen-sized. In fact, they are even meaningfully smaller than standard double beds. When I complained, I was told (by the manager) that I was wrong - "they are queen-size beds." It simply isn't true. So then I asked for a rollaway bed. But all of those had been taken. The upshot is that 2 of the 4 people will need to sleep on the floor. (2 of our group are above 6'4".) So I asked for some sort of extra mattress. Request denied. Then I asked for a discount on the room. (We had prepaid.) Request denied. Then I asked for an alternative room. Request denied. Then I asked for an additional room. Request denied. I was offered a bottle of wine, but since I don't drink that wasn't very helpful. What a terrible hotel.

This is a very nice hotel and place to stay in Sydney. I enjoyed the helpful staff and their attitude towards the guests is second to none. Breakfast is varied, although when the restaurant was busy the staff were very pushed and some items were slow to be replenished. I suggest not enough staff were employed on these days. This is a management issue. I stayed for 14 nights and was sad to leave.

Not a bad hotel. They were ding a bit of construction while I was there. However, the location is great. There are several restaurants within a block of the hotel. If you don't mind walking a few blocks you have access to even more restaurants and several mass transit options as well. You are also within walking distance of several tourist attractions including the Sydney Harbour Bridge, Sydney Opera House, and the Botanical Gardens. From Circular Quay you can easily get to several local beaches, Taronga Zoo, and just about anywhere else you want to visit in Sydney.
