Our stay at Meriton Suites Kent Street had many highlights, particularly the location and the views, but also a few areas that would benefit from closer attention to detail.nnWe stayed on the 50th floor in a room facing east and south, with expansive views across the city and all the way out to Sydney Airport in the distance. Below, the energy of Chinatown added another sensory layer, with the aromas of nearby restaurants drifting up and creating a real sense of place. The outlook alone made the stay memorable.nnHowever, on arrival we noticed several basic kitchen items were missing, including tongs, tea towels and oven racks. While this was disappointing to discover after check-in, staff responded quickly once notified and the items were promptly delivered. It did highlight the need for amenities in each room to be more consistently checked prior to guest arrival to ensure a seamless and satisfactory stay.nnCar parking was another challenge. Arriving on a Monday afternoon, the parking area was extremely congested, with cars parked in almost any available space, including on ramps, in front of no-parking signs and double parked. This made navigating between levels difficult, especially with vehicles coming up from below. While this may not be a direct hotel issue, it appears that local office workers use the car park during the day at a cheaper rate, significantly reducing availability for in-house guests. This is something that should be reviewed, as it detracts from the overall experience.nnOn a positive note, the location is excellent for exploring the Sydney CBD, with trams close by making it easy to get around the city without a car.nnOverall, a very well-located property with impressive views and responsive staff, but one where room amenities and parking management need closer monitoring to consistently meet guest expectations.
Great location, had a one bed apartment for a week.nGood air conditioning in the room, comfortable bed, water pressure was pretty good in the shower.nnOnly three slight negatives:-n- Rooms are slightly dated in terms of decor and had a slight smell to themn- The jacuzzi in the pool area wasn’t clean and the sauna doesn’t get up to hot enough temperaturesn- You spend a lot of time waiting for the liftsnnAll of this said, would happily book here again
Overall we were disappointed with our stay at Meriton Suites, Kent Street. The common areas really let the place down - the floor lobbies and elevators weren’t very clean, and the hallways always had a strong, unpleasant smell.nnThe elevators were a constant annoyance. One was completely out of order, and the rest used a convoluted system that either made you wait ages for an elevator or sometimes skip your floor entirely. It made getting around far more frustrating than it should have been.nnThe saunas were out of order, and we were told that pest control could come to your room at any time for checks.nnService was also slow and frustrating. Asking for simple things like extra towels or dental kits took an inordinately long time, and after waiting, we were sometimes told the items weren’t available anyway.nnOverall, it didn’t live up to expectations and felt poorly maintained for the price. The only positive was having a washing machine and the excellent location, which meant we were able to spend as little time as possible in the hotel.nnWould not recommend.
Good. Second time staying here. Room was ready early and got put on a higher floor which I loved. The only thing is the elevators are a nightmare to wait for. I almost threw up in the lobby waiting for my elevator as I was feeling sick. Decently clean. Good service
The apartment hotel was in an excellent location. Close to attractions, dining, shops, and transit. A very walkable area. Hotel staff were helpful and friendly. Our Studio suite was very spacious with a medium firm bed. The room included a safe which was nice to have. There were no available plugs next to the bed for our devices so we had to charge them across the room. The shower stall was the only letdown. There was black mold on some of the grout where it meets the floor. We called the front desk and they sent housekeeping up to clean the stall. But there was little improvement. The shower stall needs to be redone.
