Very nice place to visit if you enjoy dinosaurs and insects, mainly science subjects. More catered for school age kids, did see a few schools on excursions. Found the museum informative however lacked interesting attractions for adults
Melbourne Museum is an amazing place, especially if you love dinosaurs and science! It’s one of the most interactive museums I’ve ever visited, with exhibits that engage all your senses—touch, sound, sight, and feel. The dinosaur displays are a standout, but there's so much more to explore. You can interact with so many elements, making learning fun and immersive for visitors of all ages. From nature and history to technology, every section offers something unique. If you're looking for a day of discovery and hands-on experiences, this is the perfect spot.
Melbourne Museum is such a cool place to visit. I absolutely loved the indoor forest – it’s like stepping into a real rainforest right in the middle of the city. The dinosaur skeletons are also super impressive; they’re huge and make you feel like you’re walking among real-life dinosaurs.nI was also impressed by the rock and mineral collection – so many different types and all displayed in a really interesting way. If you’re into nature, history, or just looking for a fun day out, this place has a bit of everything.nThe tickets are pretty cheap, so it’s definitely worth checking out. Whether you're a local or a tourist, there’s so much to see and explore. Highly recommend it if you’re in Melbourne.
Great museum. Perfect for kids with the dinosaur exhibits and the Children’s gallery which was perfect for my little one 1.5 year old to run around and explore. Was very impressed with the space. The museum was also nice and quiet when we visited at 10am on a weekday.
Highly recommend a visit to this museum. The dinosaur portion was truely fascinating. The big whale skeleton and snake skeleton were amazing. Plenty of food and activities for little ones. Do not waste your time in the cue to get tickets, as their website is great to use - took me max 5 minutes to get a ticket online than lining up and processing a physical ticket.
