A wonderful time for all ages! Such an informative and interactive museum, and the kindest staff ever. The displays are so in depth, well crafted and maintained fantastically. Could not have asked for a better experience!
Came for the special Lego star wars exhibition and was amazed by it! Although popular, it was not overcrowded due to the staggered entrance after viewing an introductory video. The lego displays were also breathtaking with interesting introductions of each piece. There were also interactive components where you can build your own drones and light sabers.nnThe permanent displays such as Life & Science and Melbourne Story galleries were also very well curated and interesting.
nA must-visit spot in Melbourne! nnWe had such a great time at Melbourne Museum — definitely a must-visit if you’re in the city! The place is huge and there’s so much to see, especially if you enjoy natural history or just want to spend a few hours indoors doing something interesting.nnThe dinosaur exhibits were super fascinating — so many skeletons, fossils, and detailed displays. You could really take your time going through each section and learning about how things evolved over time. It’s the kind of place that brings out the curious kid in you!nnWe also really enjoyed the insects section — everything was so neatly lined up and organised. It wasn’t just random bugs — there was a lot of thought put into how they were displayed, which made it both educational and fun to look at. It’s weirdly satisfying seeing how tidy and detailed it all was.nnThere’s also a café inside, which is great for grabbing a quick bite or coffee if you need a break between the exhibits. Plenty of seating too.nnOverall, a really fun and eye-opening experience. Great for families, couples, or even solo exploring. Would totally recommend spending at least a few hours here — there’s something for everyone!
Well I went expecting lots of old stuff to the point of screaming, no I was wrong. The exhibits were fresh and a delight to explore, and not just for us old farts but young children as well. The Dinosaur was so cool sorry I'm old ok . Cultural experience was very interesting, but the bugs section with real insects to watch, until we noticed no glass on the spiders exhibit. Really quite mad actually.nnThe museum has a delightful garden that is enclosed with birds flying around doing bird stuff.nnA decent Cafe and more importantly lots of clean bathrooms for old and young.nnThe price $15 for hours of entertainment, so please go and enjoy yourself
A great place to visit for the whole or half a day. Very family friendly and definitely a great choice to visit if you have a child. Lots to learn and experience, especially in the kids area of the museum. You will need to select a time slot and get to spend an hour in the designated area.nnSo much sensory and learning opportunities available and your little one most likely can spend days there and still be entertained.nnIt's a short walk from the free city tram zone which makes it an attractive option if you want to spend half a day here.nnThoroughly impressed with what's available for the kids, but it's also a great place for adults to appreciate history and be reminded of the childhood memories and joys of learning again!
