Forrest Hotel and Apartments is a wonderful family owned and operated hotel in the heart of Canberra. Located just behind Parliament House in the leafy suburb of Forrest, we are ideally suited for government, business and leisure travel.

We have 76 Hotel Rooms and 40 serviced apartments

I had a great stay at Forrest Hotel and Apartments. The room was clean, nicely renovated, and the bed was very comfortable. Check-in was quick and easy, and the staff were friendly and helpful. There was plenty of parking available, which was very convenient. The hotel is in a great location and the room was quiet. Just note that some rooms are upstairs and only accessible by stairs. Overall, a comfortable and hassle-free stay, and I would definitely stay here again
If you love your AFL, and love your team to beat the Giants....this is the place to stay.nOnly a stone throw from Manuka oval, the Forest Apartments offer great value of very good rooms or apartments to suit your budget.nBut location, location location! It has it all, shopping for ladies, walk to footy and restaurants afterwards....and good secure parking on site... And best of all it's Free! Becoming rare in Canberra these days and not to mention the on site office and staff...nCanberra has a lot to offer and so do the Forest Apartments.
Staff were so friendlynPrice for 2 nights were hard to beat anywherenRoom was cozy and clean. It had extra pillows extra blankets and electric blankets, fresh towels Daily and room service with our room cleaned and extra tea and coffee. 10 minute walk to watch the AFL, absolutely central to everything we needed. It’ll be our go too for the next time NM play at the stadium
Booked the Forrest Hotel and Apartments at very short notice and stayed 2 nights at about 155/n. Price was much cheaper than a cabin at the sprawling Alivio Tourist Park further out of town it was booked out on a Sunday night? Forrest Apps comprises several different 2 level buildings. Ours 110, Albany Apartments in the next street was a ground floor, one bedroom apartment in a renovated older style block of flats and nicely finished. Maybe not all the apartments have been renovated. The kitchen has modern appliances and plenty of utensils, crockery etc. I like to cook so this suited me. The bathroom and large walk-in shower has modern fittings and is easy to use. Bed was comfortable but firm. And plenty of storage. There are 2 large TVs, wifi, plus aircon. Staff were friendly at check-in but otherwise we did not see them.nnLocated in Manuka in a pleasant, quiet, well kept tree lined street and close to several major attractions such as Parliament house, museums, galleries, Glassworks, markets and the lake which are all easy to reach on a bike. I think it is good value for the location. We could park out the front of our room, which was good as we were on a driving holiday with a campervan and you always need to duck out for something else :-. I never really knew where AFL games are played in Canberra, turned to be just around the corner. I would stay here again.
Edit: Following my review, the owner reached out to me directly to apologise for the communication and service issues I experienced. They also confirmed that the refund for the cot fee has now been processed. I appreciate the prompt follow-up and effort to address my concerns. If ever I'm in the area again, I would consider staying here with my family.nnOriginal: I stayed at this hotel twice within the same week, and my experience was a mix of positives and frustrations.nnDuring my first stay, we were pleasantly surprised with an upgrade to a two-bedroom apartment for myself and my toddler. The room itself was great — clean, modern, and well-equipped with a nice bathroom and kitchen. Having a washing machine and dryer was a huge bonus, especially when travelling with a child.nnHowever, I had requested a cot in advance, which staff confirmed would be provided. Unfortunately, the cot supplied was more like a bassinet and far too small for my daughter. This meant I had to go into the city and purchase my own travel cot so she could sleep safely, which was both inconvenient and an added expense.nnOn my second stay, we were in a one-bedroom apartment. The room was again clean and modern with the same useful amenities. Unfortunately, communication from staff was lacking. I asked about a refund for the cot fee from my first stay, and the staff member I spoke to didn’t seem to understand what I was referring to and didn’t make any effort to check or follow up.nnParking was adequate, which was convenient, but it’s worth noting the on-site restaurant is not open on weekends.nnOverall, while the rooms themselves were comfortable and well-appointed, the issues with the cot and poor staff communication impacted my experience. It wasn’t the worst stay, but it’s unlikely I would choose to stay here again.
