Forrest Hotel and Apartments is a wonderful family owned and operated hotel in the heart of Canberra. Located just behind Parliament House in the leafy suburb of Forrest, we are ideally suited for government, business and leisure travel.

Booked a Executive One Bedroom Apartment For 4 Nights.nnPros:n- Price of stay was affordable compared with other options in Canberran- Located a short distance near the parliament house and is in close proximity to all the other major tourist attractionsn- Microwave, Washing Machine, Kitchen, Dishwasher Facilitiesn- Clean Room and Bathroom On Arrivaln- Church, Shops and Restaurants a few blocks awayn- TV had good amount of shows and movies to choose fromnnCons:n- The room i was allocated was a bit of a walk from the parking lot especially while carrying luggagennOverall a positive experience, very well pricednHighly recommend if staying in Canberra.
My friend & I always choose to stay at Forrest Hotel when we go to Canberra for our Gallery Hop and have done for quite a few years. It's location is perfect....very handy to local shops & eateries. The rooms are clean and comfortable & affordable. I have recommended them to many people.
It's a motel. My family suite had a kitchenette with fridge, pots, crockery etc. Old but clean and serviceable. Some modern taps etc. but don't expect prestige. Bed was comfortable enough. Huge TVs in the living room and also the separate bedroom family suite had a double and two singles in the one bedroom. The bathroom had small tubes of shampoo and conditioner, liquid soap over the sink. Room was quiet. Area is very peaceful. Close to the #59 bus stop. Walking distance to the parliament. Around 5-10 minutes walk to the Manuka shops and restaurants. Taxis come quickly. 10-15 minutes to the airport.nOddly, since I booked through Booking.com same price as booking directly, I was told at reception closes 9pm that I'd booked a special, so there would be no housekeeping.
Stayed for 3 nights in an apartment. Apartment was clean and comfortable. We had a washer/dryer which we used and a well stocked kitchen with a dishwasher. We could cook a full dinner on one of the 3 nights we stayed.nnSo close to Manuka and Kingston and also the various wonderful places to visit such as Art Gallery and National Museum. The price was perfect, half the cost of hotel estimates.nnVery happy
Parking is very limited in the evening - not enough car spaces for all guests. Rooms are fine but nothing special. Some electrical fault with the outlet in our room. Not easy to walk anywhere or to access public transport so having a car is a necessity.
