Diplomat Hotel

I have to start by stating the hotel was under renovation during our stay, so this does impact the review. Overall the hotel is a nice hotel. Thee rennovations did impact the bar offerings and did result in additional noise during the day. The hotel was clean, and the happy hour from 5 to 6pm was nice. It is about a 10 to 15 minute walk to get anywhere, but the hotel does rent bikes which makes everything accessible. Overall a nice stay worth the daily rate.

We stayed for a night. It was clean and the staff were friendly. The lounge was real cute. Would have loved to try the bar and restaurant but didn't have time. I would definitely recommend this place.

Great location. Under renovations so will be even a better experience. Staff attentive and friendly. Plenty of parking. Gym, sauna and outdoor pool. Small restaurant and bar. Nice common area with library, games and television. Thoroughly recommended.

Nice place aesthetically, check in time is from 2pm but we checked in at 5pm and entered our booked room it hadn’t been cleaned from the previous guests. So we were “upgraded” to a room with better amenities however the extra bed that we needed which got wheeled in is way below hotel quality. It honestly should be in the dump this mattress. I don’t want to know how old it is. Also the dishwasher in this second room hadn’t been emptied, had dirty dishes in it despite being full. Not sure if this place is severely understaffed or what. The one staff member assisting us was doing well despite not having much to work with.

Well priced and located in the heart of Canberra. Good clean and functional rooms.
