What a fun venue to visit! I had never been here until the NZ international film festival. I came here three occasions, and even though it was super busy most nights/afternoons, I really enjoyed it.nnIt’s quite a beautiful venue and I enjoyed how refreshing it looked. Considering how old it is, the venue is pretty well maintained and made for a great viewing experience. Even though seats and floors are quite old, they did the job just fine. The bathrooms were also very tidy.nnThe food/drinks area had a range of options - more so than many other larger cinemas. They were also reasonably priced. There is also free water available which is a nice touch too. The popcorn cups are a little small imo $5 so you may want to get two if you get through it quickly like I do!nnLastly, the staff were super knowledgeable and friendly - it made all the difference. You can tell that they are really passionate about the movie-watching experience.
Such an nostalgic experience. Well looked after cinema. Clean and in a good state.nFriendly staff who give the best advice with where to sit. Good food selection in both chiller and counter, with fresh popcorn.nLoving the 80s movies on the schedule!nPlenty of on-street parking directly outside.nWill definitely be back.
I visited fie the first time on Tues to see the first 2 episodes of Miles from Nowhere and celebrate its airing on Sky TV the next day.nnWhat a lovely venue nI loved the backyard garden and the special room where all the cast and crew gathered for photos.
Great venue and lovely staff. I've mainly experienced it as a gig venue and have always found it pretty great for that.nnThe one film experience I had was good. It was wooden seats which weren't too comfortable but added to the vibe of the place I guess.
I tried to book online for the NZ Film Festival but the diagram showing seating was very primitive - no indication where the screen is nor seat row numbering.nSadly no phone number to get help - customer service lacking.nnResponse to the owner a day later - sincere apologies, you're right, it's the NZIFF online IT programming that's not working.
